Rees w a couple Classic arm punts that our guys somehow came down w.
Rees had his shortfalls but he had a knack for finding good 1v1 match ups and taking those shots, giving our guys a chance.

That 2013 MSU game (pass interference galore) was a clinic of finding your 1v1s and taking shots. For all of his physical shortfalls, dude was a smart player. No surprise he's where he is today, 10 years later.

MSU is still crying about that 2013 game a decade later. "We should have won it all that year, but officials screwed us against ND!" Nevermind it was B1G officiating crew and the holding was blatant lol. Also, there's no way MSU's inept offense was going to beat FSU or Auburn.

They probably lose like 24-6 to that FSU team.

Count me as pretty damned surprised he’s Alabama’s defensive coordinator at age 31

I watched a YouTube video of a compilation of the PI calls in the MSU 2013 game and good lord, there are some delusional, whiny and flat out stupid butthurt Sparty fans in there.

Of course, because it's ND, everybody comes to Sparty's aid and kisses their boo-boos, and ignores the clearly blatant holds by Dennard and Waynes.

People claiming, oh, this was the game that Sparty was robbed of a natty. Bitch, they scored 13 points and averaged like 3 yards per play! WTF are you talking about!? FFS, the only TD they scored in that game needed 2 questionable 15-yard penalties at ND's expense to happen.

Pretty impressive resume over a 7 year period...I think he earned it.

Some people will just always pick on Rees or be a flat out hater, I'll never understand it. He gave his all to ND as a player and a coach. He got an opportunity to coach under the best coach of our generation, and certainly Mount Rushmore member of all-time college football coaches.

Saban's track record for assistants speak for itself. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back at ND one day in the future.

We gonna have our hands full even with Stanford this year. Now 2-4 but just had a great 46-43 win over Prime’s Buffs. They’re starting to find their groove

If we have our hands full with Stanford, then we seriously need to re-evaluate everything about this staff.

Stanford is awful, and this game changed nothing about it. Colorado is just being exposed as also awful and poorly coached, particularly on defense. They had a 29-0 lead and the defense went completely into the tank, while the offense sat on their lead.

One only has to look at the 97 yard touchdown play to see how grossly undisciplined and flat out bad Colorado's defense is. Corner gets tripped up and 1 horrendous tackling attempt and Ayomanor is off to the races, there's nobody even remotely close to him, and it's not like Ayomanor is a speedster.

This was Colorado going in the tank and showing that Prime is not the beacon of coaching excellence he likes to believe he is. They should've lost to Colorado State in a similar fashion at home.

I agree with you. It’s sad that now I have to worry about Notre Dame getting a win against Stanford. Stanford showed they have some real fight and grit tonight. Looks like they have settled on a QB in Davis and he seems to have some real skill. The kid is only going to improve as the season goes on. He is going to be a handful come November 25th. Just like every other team on ND’s schedule Stanford has better WRs than Notre Dame. Again thank you for this Del Alexander. The Stanford WR ELIC AYOMANOR is an absolute dog baller. He would be the #1 WR on. Notre Dame by a country mile. Will be a great matchup to watch him play vs Hart and Benmo.

Hard disagree with both of you.

Colorado has struggled hard to beat 2 of the worst teams in the FBS this year in Colorado State and Arizona State. It only makes sense that they finally dropped one after barely escaping against 2 similarly inept teams.

Their defense is an albatross of unholy proportions. It's easily one of the worst defenses in college football by a wide margin.

Stanford upsetting Colorado doesn't impress me when 1-5 Arizona State and Colorado State were in position to do much of the same.

As for Ayomanor, I think he's a solid player, but let's not get it twisted. I don't think ND's secondary could play as poorly as Colorado's if it tried, and lord knows, there's been games where I firmly believe they try.

Stanford is still just as bad as they've been all year. It's just now people are finally realizing that Colorado is ALSO very bad and the Prime shine is wearing off.

Yes, but as of the last few weeks, ND play ihas been unpredictable. If we win today, I’ll feel much better about ND beating Stanford… Go Irish! ☘️☘️☘️

I mean, that's true, but Duke and Louisville >>>>>>>>> Stanford and Colorado.

And that doesn't even consider the reality that ND had to play both of them back-to-back on the road, after also playing Ohio State, without a bye week, and both without their 2 best receivers.

If Deion isn’t careful they might be playing all their games on peacock by the end of the year.

Give him something to really complain about.

Stanford is Upset U. They seem to do it yearly despite only winning 33% of the time.

Last night's bizarro world game gives me a little more hope re tonight. Colo and Stanf are two of USC's "impressive" wins and those two teams suck (sorry Sherm, did you actually watch that crapfest?) . Colorado had 17 penalties?? Wow. I guess that's one of the byproducts of getting rid of your entire team in the offseason.

Stanford should be pretty easy for a good team to defend. Their RB's didn't clear 30 yds in total. One dimensional offenses are easy to stop.

Colorado’s plan to not sit on the Ayomanor’s slants was interesting. A large majority of his production came from that.

We just spent the whole week doing that after losing to a ranked team.

If ND loses to Stanford (again), then there's nothing to evaluate. The whole staff should be replaced after the season.

I think it’s fair if we lose to Stanford again this year the whole staff should be in trouble. That is pure nonsense when it comes to coaching. The ND team is far more talented than Stanford. But I am not sure it’ll be a blow out like I thought it would.

Agreed. I think what we are seeing is a fan base that has lost hope after one bad loss & three poor offensive performances in a row. Fan bases can only speculate & judge by player/coach body language so of course they assume the worst & can’t fathom how ND can even beat Pitt, WF & Stanford. I suspect most fan bases are like this. It’s a coping mechanism. Not saying the wheels can’t come off…they can, but as of today, your post is the common sense take.
