No way you can bench Book now.
Should have more designed runs for him though.
BK needs to take over play calling. We need another dependable WR that isn't named Claypool

I dont think the officiating was overly bias but it sure was bad.
Good final chapter. Now #CloseTheBook
PJ wouldn't pull that last run off, and probably doesn't get down the field on that last drive.
poor game all around, great last drive.
sorry, but playing calling sucked on both sides.
while a bad game, i think it was the right kind of game and ending to help them get their heads out of their collective asses.
We also wouldn't have been losing.
I think Long is a bigger problem than Book, but Book is still a problem.

Two issues on the last drive with Long...
1. The run when we had to burn our last timeout
2. 2nd and goal and Kmet, who is one of our only two threats, is blocking
two things.
1) I'd be OK going straight to Rees calling plays......
2) I've never really like our O for WRs. Either the staff is far too conservative to get young talent in the mix, the O scheme is too complicated for young WRs, or the scheme just isn't complimentary for speed and agility. It just feels like 95% possession type plays, 4% 50/50 balls, and 1% speed/agility.
I have never seen a team target one receiver like Ian Book targeting Chase Claypool, never.

First season watching football or just dementia.
NEVER?
Tim Brown, Tate, Samardzija, Casper, Gatewood, Floyd, Seymour, Snow, McAfee, Rudolph, Eifert, Fasano, Brown, Hunter, etc, etc, etc
That's just ND.
Never heard of Rice, Gonzalez, Carter, again Tim Brown, T.O. ???

Sobering fact: Virginia Tech lost by 35 points to Duke this season.

This is truth. I don't know if it's coaching or what, but our WRs as a position group need work. We can't keep throwing just to Claypool, there's an easy way to fix that as a defense.
You assume too much. Read the article from this week. PJ is 2nd string because he's 2nd string right now. He has trouble reading defenses (Apparently worse than Book) and has other issues. This is a case of Rees/Hendrix all over again. Hendrix was the more highly touted prospect, but Rees was the clear starter.
It's no good comparing other games by opponents, there is no Transitive Property in football. Every game is it's own entity, by the same token Georgia is just slightly better than VT because we failed to finish the 4th quarter drive in that one. It doesn't work.
