Yeah... I mean I definitely said all of this before the season even started (and got equally slammed for it then) but I'm happy to debate football with people who are respectful and make logical points like yours. Everyone has an opinion and I'm not going to say my view of Lewis is validated by one game... but it'll be interesting to see how he does this year with the changes around him. For all I know he'll prove me wrong and run for 2000 :)

I agree. Theres been a lot of changes on Pitts OL, esp on the interior. I just think once Tino settles down and utilizes Baldwin, it will open the running game for Dion. There's always growing pains when you have a qb with zero starts and a revamped OL. I will say that I feel very confident about our WR and their speed going against Pitt's slow and physical LB core. I look for Theo to do some big things aside from Floyd and Rudolph because Brooks is tearing it up right now for Utah.

On the Utah side of the ball... is anyone else surprised by the speed and aggressiveness of their defense? They look pretty darn good right now.

very impressed, when PITT was down by the goal line Lewis was heading through the hole and just got smacked in the mouth, full speed by a LB, Stood Lewis straight up, surprised me a little i definitely wasn't expecting that.

they have a solid D as of this game, the only points scored are because PITT blocked a punt for short yardage to go and a muffed punt by UTAH for a short field

Utah's D is extremely quick.... They fly to the ball well.

Game over, Pitt's offense is too weak. I can't stand when these "BCS Busters" are winning, I'm getting really sick of it.

Little premature on the channel change. Theres plenty of time left and Utah has been prone to turnovers.

I really hope Utah has to kick a field goal here for the win just so I can see if Pitt tries to ice him or not.

Great game. They looked good enough for the first game, but obviously, the penalties were bad. Awesome finish, Sunseri got away with a lot of throws and it finally caught up with him.

I only saw parts of the game but didn't think Pit was a bad as some of the comments I've read.

Utah stacked the holes and took away the run. Lewis was 25 for 75 with one 18 yd run. 3 ypc is impressive D. Take away the 18 yd run which came early and they held him to under 2.4 ypc for the rest of the game.

They did that because Sunseri wasn't very effective. He threw jump balls to Baldwin downfield but it struck me as too far down field and the passes were short. That works well when the defender is step for step with the big receiver and the receiver pulls up and snags the ball. But UU's guy seemed to be playing for the lagged ball. One of the commentators claimed UU's guy runs 4.3 - that could disrupt a lot of passing attacks.

Sunseri made rookie mistakes like the INT that wasn't throw to the boundary. If he gets his timing down with Baldwin and Shanahan it will open up the running game.

Utah blundered with turnovers. I think they're the better team but they let Pit get back in this game.

They both could give ND a game but both are beatable, more beatable than I though before the game.

The past five years or so has taught me not to look too far ahead, but as of mid Sept. the way our team has shown improvement... and with two weeks to prepare (only game we have that all year).........

If we are healthy, you have to like our chances in this game big time... and that's good... knowing USC is on the road and assuming it will be a tough game no matter what some fellow ND fans will say, this may be the game that we can make a real legit statement this season... if we survive the next four games with any national relevence remaining in terms of this season then yeah, Utah becomes a very big big game... hell, Utah may be undefeated when they come in.

I think Utah will for sure be undefeated when they come to South Bend and to be honest, I really like our chances. If we can continue to progress in BK's system, then by the time this game comes around, we will be ready. Aside from USC, this game is the most exciting for me. Its just looks like a very interesting matchup all ther way around.

ND Utah

ND Utah

Found out today that I am headed to the game. Anyone goin to be out there? My buddy, his girlfriend, me, and my girlfriend are all going, and looking for a good tailgate!

I hope they run the table til that game, and Utah is in the top 10. This could set up to be ND's biggest win in years.

Biggest win in years...against Utah. Yikes, how the mighty have fallen.

Still think Utah is vastly overrated. AMAZING D-line, tho.

Well...we'll know for sure when they play and hopefully beat TCU. They could be a top 5 team by that point, if ND knocks them offf...that would easily be the biggest win in years. No, they are no a traditional power conference team, but they are still in the top 12.

Times have changed for sure. I never thought 10-15 years ago we would see Utah, Boise State and TCU in the top ten. With that being said, if we can somehow win the game with Utah, it will be very special and a significant win to say the least.

Hey all. Planning on going to this game, but wondering where the visiting fan section is?

Heard it's in the upper bowl, sections 117-120, but have yet to receive any concrete information. For once, google has failed me.

Looking forward to the game. If we're coming in undefeated it's going to be even more interesting.
