Just FYI guys, Longo training works more with short-term strength. He trains them to be able to max for 5 or so seconds (the length of a play). It's why he prefers 10 sets of 3 reps as opposed to 3 sets of 10.

I wouldn't classify it as short-term strength. I know I'm nit-picking. High sets, low reps is just a way of getting the muscles " in shape". What I mean is it's ideal for an up-tempo offense like Kelly's. Gotta have the muscles trained for speed more then strength.

Still a disappointing number for an OL with his size. I'm sure he can improve on that but that is the downside with high sets, low reps. You sacrifice strength. Also explains why these guys get pushed around easier.

I've done 23 reps of 225 before. 18 is not good at all for an OL draft hopeful.

Thanks for starting this thread.

I'm most curious of Harrison's 40 time

18 reps is terrible for a offensive lineman. It would only be acceptable if he recently had shoulder surgery or something. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the low for linemen.

Tied for 3rd worse.

With the way some of you are bench pressing, did you play college football anywhere? Damn... some of you can bench, especially if you are Robby Toma size.

<--- 6'0" at 180lbs, 225 by 15... I am pretty happy with that, but ya, as a OL going into the draft, 18 is not that great... I heard Cave could do like 40 though.

Ah, if you two had only been here when Mbeckha enlightened us all of the topic.

I'm sure Brady Quinn did more than 18.

edit: just googled it, Brady did 24. 18 sucks.

Taylor Dever's Bench Press is pretty disappointing

18 reps isnt too too bad.

As others have said 18 is pretty disappointing...I will say this though as being an experienced bb they are not bouncing off the chest like many idiots do and they must hold it up for a sec or so till the person counting says it was a rep..so it is harder than what most people are doing in the gym although extremely bad for an ol...this # is something u would expect a rb to put up..longo is a sad panda today
By the way didn't mean for it to sound if I was claiming anyone here is doing that just something I see all the time in the gym

In comparison David Molk (the centre for scUM) put up 41.
