There is a report that Alabama and Notre Dame are negotiating a future home-and-home series, probably for after the Texas A&M series. Assuming Saban is going to have to retire at some point in the next decade, I really wouldn't hate this idea.

It won't matter when they're sandwiched between Oklahoma, USC, Michigan and Georgia.... it's really getting to 'what's the point?' Status with the scheduling... it's the only component we fully control and we make it as difficult as possible...

I always thought they had a relatively equal distribution of cupcake opponents throughout their season sans one spot; that's reserved for the bye before their biggest game of the year.
