Who do ppl think/know are "redshirting" among the freshman class?

I would say its a pretty safe bet:

Gunner, Okwara, Stanley, Baratti, Mahone, Ferguson & Harrell are

Shumate, Neal, Day, & according to the ISD info Brown & Russell are not.

That would leave Prosise & Jones in my personal idk catagory

My guess is Jones will not play, barring any catastrophic rash of injuries on the D line. If we make it through the season relatively healthy I see him using the year to get bigger and stronger.

Depends on how many DL Diaco wants in the rotation. #1 unit should be KLM - Nix - Tuitt. #2 is likely Hounshell - Schwenke - Day/ Jones. If Day is as good as advertised, Jones may red-shirt, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some reps.

ISD nor anyone else knows who is going to play or not play. There is a great chance that Stanley/Harrell/Okwara/Turner/Kiel redshirt. Id be shocked if Ferguson redshirted as well as Brown. Jarron and one of Prosise/Baratti/Shumate should be as well. But if Prosise does get moved to cb then I would doubt he redshirts. And most likely 1 of Baratti/Shumate redshirt in an ideal scenario

I wanna say I read somewhere that they may not RS Mahone, since he is basically the only real power RB we have on our roster, granted we have Amir but it was still my understanding that Mahone was going to see some 3rd and short situations.

Then again, if Hendrix ends up being the starter we may not need a power back, but even then I would still hope for some sort of power RB to compliment our speed in the backfield, and I don't know how much I would like our starting QB running on 3rd and short every play. Kelly tends to IMO, run the ball on those short yardage situations more than he would pass.

I'm predicting that Prosise will see the field this year on special teams and will split time on PR with Neal and Goodman.

I find it very interesting that Prosise is getting a long look at corner. I thought Prosise was perfect for FS, but play him where he can help out the most.

Don't think that has been decided, but we should know more about where he and Neal will play on the 3rd at BK's presser.

imo the freshmen scenario:

significant playing time: brown, neal, day, shumate, shep...sorry

limited PT: jones (due to lack of depth), baratti (special teams) prosise (special teams, mop up), russell (special teams, mop up)

redshirt: ferguson (maybe limited, but don't think it'll be worth losing a year of eligibility), daly, harrell, stanley, kiel, mahone, okwara, turner
