Can't believe NY managed only 1 shot in last 30 minutes and still hung on to win! Definitely not the Kings night.

Fuck it. Rangers in 7.

I'm owed one from the Yankees losing to the Red Sox in 2004.

But seriously, if the Rangers somehow come back and win I might just put my remote down for good and call it the end of my sports-watching career.

There are fans of 29 different MLB franchises (think the Royals have at least one) who don't think you are owed anything as a Yankee fan!!!!

No sir....Yankees are the only MLB team to lose after being up 3-0 in any playoff series!

I as definitely implying the Yankees unrivaled success has been a spoil of riches no fan can feel bad for. There are Cub fans who would give their left nut, first born, and live on the streets for a year to see them win 1.

I'm watching the local MSG channel where they show all the Devils, Rangers, and Islander games. Literally for some reason just showed a clip of them winning the 1994 cup on their hockey broadcast.

Just got home from Staples Center. What a night! I will have better insight tomorrow, I am sure, but for now, this is a great feeling. To come back in the series against the Sharks all the way through the Quacks and then the nailbiter against Chicago and then to capture their second Cup in three years. Just wow! Those overtimes were some of the most stressful hockey I have ever personally witnessed. So happy to have been there for both Cup raising ceremonies.

The refs cost the Rangers two games. The Rangers inability to defend two goal leads cost them the series.

Hank has proven to the world he is the best goalie.

I look forward to the roster tweaks Slats will be making. IMO they need to get better up the middle, get a bit stronger defensively but the key will be in who they bring back.

Do they have enough to make a run at Thornton?

Gonna be fun.

2.5 months until preseason!!

Roster "tweaks"? IIRC, don't the Rangers have like 7 UFA's and 5 RFA's? That is a bit more than just some tweaks.

And blaming the refs for two of the losses? The Rangers had two power plays in overtime last night and couldn't convert. The officiating was awful for both teams. Like you said, Rangers couldn't hold a lead, they did not have good third periods, and they had an empty uniform with "NASH" printed across the back.

Lundquist is a great goalie, but in this series, Quick was better.

PLEASE!!! I admit there were a couple of questionable calls, but the Rangers never capitalized on their opportunities. Do you blame the refs for these stats.....Nash no points and no assists in series and Richards no goals and one assist.

The series was very tight, but I still feel the finals was the Kings/Blackhawks series. That team scared me every time they had the puck.

So the goalie interference and the trip call on Zucc had no outcome on either game? If those calls were made correctly then the series is still going on. Sure, there are some questionable calls but then there obviously horrific calls that directly affect the outcome.

Yes, I put blame on the refs. But at no point did I absolve the Rangers. I also said their inability to hold two goal leads cost them as well.

As for tweaks to the roster, the core group is returning but tweaks will be made. IMO: Richards, Boyle, and Stralman go. Poliuot and Moore resign. The RFA will simply get raises. One of Staal or Stepan gets traded. Although I think they can trade Staal then resign Stralman.

I don't know but will be loads of fun. Offseason is never boring!

Seriously, $7.5M cap hit for an absolute pile of garbage.

What's up with a SCF game, much less a CLOSE OUT GAME, being relegated to a bastard NBC channel tonight? It's not like the Hurricanes and Predators are in it.

A little late but NBC has done this every year with games 3 and 4. I think their thought process is they are trying to get viewership for NBCSN.

I have never liked Nash. For such amazing size and ability he is a waste of a roster spot. He is like Dustin Penner, but without the ability to go in to beast mode come playoff time.

I guess we'll never know the answer to that statement.

The fact that the Rangers allowed themselves to be in a position where the refs were able to have any sort of influence on the game is the telling factor. Blame the refs all you want. Personally, I think it is a cop out. I would think all the blown leads, the inability to muster very many shots in the third periods, and a guy like Nash having zero points a being a minus 3 would all be more significant factors than some blown calls. Even if you get bad calls, you still have to kill penalties - which the Kings were able to do twice in overtime last night.

I'll use it as a cop out HOWEVER at no point did I absolve the team. It was a combination of things but to give the refs a pass is as much a cop out as the way I'm using them. Regardless, I have not dismissed their own mistakes. I still said their inability to hold multiple two goal leads cost them.

As for Nash, he was a beast defensively. Stepan is not a #1C. Nash needs a C like Jumbo Joe. Is he the answer? Maybe. Maybe not but Nash and Kreider need a true playmaker; that's not Stepan. I don't know how much any of you pay attention to advanced stats such as Corsi but I'd advise taking a look.

Also, since he was acquired Nash is top 15 in the NHL in scoring. I'd look at negatively more at guys like Richards and Girardi. Even Staal struggled. Don't be surprised to see his name involved in rumors.

Kings play San Jose in our home opener. Ahhh, making the Sharks watch the Kings raise their Stanley Cup banner? That's kind of funny.
