I really don't like the new divisions by the way. Especially the fact that the Hawks and Detroit aren't in the same division.

I will be interested to see the Wings in the East this year. They will have some interesting matchups both in division and in conference.

I am so happy I wont have to stay up for a 10:30 puck drop during the playoffs anymore!!! Thats probably my highlight in terms of the move to the east. Kinda sad that the Wings only play the Hawks twice in the regular season though. Oh well... we'll just have to start some shyt with Boston now.

Thoughts on hybrid icing?

Personally I'm not a fan. Takes out the whole idea of hustling till the whistle. Makes it seem like a beer league game. Good to know that it was a unanimous "no" from all the Devils though.

I agree with your point, however, I do think the rule is going to eliminate some needless injuries.

I don't think it will. They will only blow it dead when it is clear that there won't be a competition for the puck. It is only going to stop play when it is obvious the team icing the puck can't get to it. So why bother? In my opinion it just brings more influence from the zebras to make that call.

If you want to eliminate the injuries, just go all the way and make it automatic if you ice the puck the play is blown dead.

They should've just put more strict penalties against the guys who do come flying in and hit the guy from behind, especially when their head's are down. Most players have enough respect to not do that but there are a few that made it necessary to put in hybrid icing.
