This one was pretty bad. It was in the Stanley cup finals too.

What always got me about the Phillips goal was it looked like he purposely did it... not saying he did of course, but his body actions looked like that's where he wanted to take the puck.

Let's start the action on this...

Amount of goals scored by the (f)lyers from now til the end of the season...

over/under... 4

over

How does Holmgren still have a job?

you got the wrong guy as many people do.
its more ed sniders influence and therefore his fault then any strings holmgren pulls.

he wont have his job for much longer though, and hexy is waiting in the wings, which will hopefully get this organizations culture change in motion.. hopefully..

snider cant live that much longer.

I don't know man. There are much easier ways to do this without embarrassing himself. I don't think Phillips did it in this particular instance.

I know for fact that this stuff happens, but they are usually meaningless games during the regular season... I know of a goalie that did it a few times during his career. Let's just leave it at that.

I don't doubt the second half of your post... but to be clear i never thought Phillips tried to do it... I have always thought from teh minute it happened (saw that one live and rememebr it well) "What the hell?? It looked like he skated it right into the net."

I wasn't saying you did hehe, just putting my opinion on the matter. I thought you brought a valid point. To me, it looked like a bad break. Timing was just really really bad.

I've done something similar once where I shot the puck in the top corner of my own net trying to hit the glass behind the net. You're just having a bad day lol.

All I have to say is LOL @ Jon Quick.

If it weren't for Quick last night, as bad as the Kings played all game, the Rangers would have scored 9 or 10 goals. It was awful. Too bad his game last night will be remembered for that one play not the 20 some other saves that were amazing.

Good point. Rangers had 5-6 breakaways and another 4-5 good rebound opportunities.

Man, this season already feels so much different. I'm not used to the games being so far apart haha

This kid is having a heck of a start to the season. Great surprise so far for the sharks.

Not a great start to the season for my Devils. Hopefully all the new faces start to improve their chemistry as the season goes on.

If we don't win Friday against the Flames, then I'll start to worry. I hate that DeBoer continues to dress Volchenkov and Harrold on the same pairing, and scratches our second best defenseman in Larsson (which cannot be good for his confidence/development). That's two blown leads in a row. If that doesn't change soon, I can see DeBoer out.

Yeah losing two straight when up 3-0 and 2-0 is really bad considering we are supposed to be relying on D and goaltending. Larsson needs to play, period. I don't understand why we are stunting his development like this. Frustrating. At least some of the new guys look good, particularly Brunner.

Really looking forward to St. Louis vs Chicago tonight, Hawks rarely get physical but I think Bickell and Bollig get a couple fighting majors tonight
