August 6th is just temporary. I had to pick a date that was earlier so I could adjust the keeper rules that needed changing. We can come up with a later date that works for everyone.

Agree with this. Maybe once we come up with a hard date for the draft I propose we make the keeper date one week before that date. That should give me plenty of time to approve everyone's selections and adjust the draft order.

I think we're going to shoot for the third week of the preseason for the draft.

You should try to do it after the 3rd week if possible, because that is when starters play the most. They receive no playing time in the 4th week.

Texas weekend is not going to work for me. Can we just do it the Thursday night before Texas? Weeknights are usually easier for everyone anyway.

The problem is that I will need time between the keeper deadline and the draft. If the draft is right after week 3 of the preseason then people are going to have to pick their keepers before week 3 when the starters get the bulk of their action.

It's not that difficult to know who you want to keep. We are making this process more complicated then needed.

I agree with bkess. It's really not that complicated. If you are keeping someone because of the preseason you are doing it wrong IMO. I am fine with any night August 28-September 1st. Preferably as late as possible.

I agree. Only thing I would add is that if one of your keepers is injured during that week 3 preseason game, we should be able to adjust. I get that, administratively, you can't do all the keepers the day of the draft. But presumably not a ton of guys are going to be severely injured that weekend so we would be talking about making a couple changes, if any.
