I'll always wish that Benetti never left the Sox. He's the best, and the Sox did him dirty. Now that he's with NBC, I'd love if ND got him in the booth.

Jason Benetti mends fences with White Sox, makes first Chicago visit for NBC's 'Sunday Night Baseball' - Chicago Sun-Times Jason Benetti mends fences with White Sox, makes first Chicago visit for NBC's 'Sunday Night Baseball'
Still pinching myself that the Tigers somehow landed Benetti. He really is so good. And they work well with him doing the national stuff.

It would be great if he someday landed the ND gig for NBC.

I’m expecting a fluff piece. Softball questions with little substance. I hope hard questions are asked but not expecting Pete to do that and Kelly will spin everything to make himself look good.

I listened this morning. Pretty generic as you’d expect. Although basically said freeman has a better personality for recruiting. What I think is still frustrating to nd fans is Kelly could have that personality. He just didn’t put in the effort for recruiting most of the time.

From today's companion piece in The Athletic:

“Obviously it’s important for me to let them know that I’m supporting and I want to support the program and I want that out there and I want to be visible for a day,” Kelly said. “I’m not in there to look at what they’re running offensively or defensively, but I just want to show that I have 100 percent faith and confidence in what they’re doing and how they’re doing it, not that they need me to validate in any way.

“But I want our fans to know, the Notre Dame fans, that I’m 100 percent supportive of what they’re doing and how they are doing it on a day-to-day basis.”

Ok dude, but that wasn't the message when you left for LSU.

And honestly, who gives a fuck if he's "supportive or has faith/confidence" in what Freeman and co are doing? Who even asked?

It's history. It was five years ago. So egotistical.
