A recent Irish Illustrated podcast was taking clear shots at Driskell when they kept saying that not every player is a "dog"...even though other sites might maintain that.
Driskell is actually friends with Prister & really good friends with O’Malley. They have dinners together.

Prister seems much more realistic with his evaluations. Driskell is over the top optimistic with his practice evaluations. The way he talks about the running backs, they all should rush for 1,000 yards this year.

II tells it like it is. Like Buchner last year and the receivers this year. They have no particular biases.

Driskell has more issue with On3, but particularly 24/7. He’s bitched about Wiltfong before due to him “taking moments away from athletes”, and has called out Loy on his board.

His biggest beef is with ISD. He used to work there, and apparently shit went down with him and Mike Frank before he left.

Battle of the egos between those two.

II was upfront with wimbush struggling in 2018 preseason. They flat out said he was nowhere near targets in practice. They don’t sugarcoat the losses and when players don’t develop according to plan. I’ve always liked them for their honesty.

On the "shit went down"... Driskell had been on staff there and Mike Frank constantly defended him to the clientele. Then he quit to go be a D3 coach... it didn't go well, so then he came back to ISD and Mike stuck his neck out to give him another shot. Maven (i.e. Sports Illustrated) reached reached out to a number of people in Irish media, including some at ISD, who turned down the offer to start the ND team site there. Driskell took the offer. Mike Frank did not take that well. And then there were a whole bunch of conflicts and such thereafter that have to deal with professionalism, scoop stealing, etc.

Didn't he go to BGI in between? Sound pretty close to what I remember, but I think you missed a step.

Personally, I like Josh Pate and Joel Klatt. Granted they are national analysts for On3 and Fox Sports, respectively. But both do follow ND and their observations are not homerish.

All these ND analysts have too much bias.

At the end of the day, unless ND wins all the winnable games and 2 out of 3 of the big games.... i.e. go 11-1 then the CFP isn't going to be discussed with ND. We lost too many big games under BK and the honeymoon is over for Freeman. I believe Klatt said: "I am on a wait and see if Freeman works out at ND." Kind of a sharp take. But I think nationally, that is where ND is at - we shot all the Big Game goodwill with BK and now MF shit the bed the first season. Hopefully they do great this season.

You are confusing ISD & Mike Frank with BGI & Stu Coman.

Driskell was at ISD first, then left.

Then went to BGI under Stu Coman & the situation you described was with Stu.
I had many a phone conversations with Stu (and Driskell) and they both were in the wrong.
But Stu made it his mission to try to ruin Driskell’s site after he left BGI.

No I was at ISD at the time, and there was definitely some tension after BD left for BGI. I don't know if it went like Lax says but I have no doubt that Mike Frank was unhappy with the way that BD left. To Mike's credit, he did not want people on the board badmouthing BD after he left.

I know there was tension when he left ISD.
They legit hate each other. And I know why they do.
But the whole situation of trying to ruin each other was between Coman & Driskell.
And the 3+ years Driskell was at BGI, Coman got phone calls and emails weekly complaining about Driskell & Stu and him would argue about it.
And when SI was looking for someone, Driskell used it to get away from BGI & Coman, not Frank & ISD.
And afterwards, Coman tried to sabotage Driskell’s site. He even started hiring Driskell’s people away, not planning on keeping them, releasing them all after a year.
Even Brian Smith, the scout down in Florida, who is close with Driskell, had to deal with BGI people (Singer/Coman) pestering him at HS games asking why he would work with Driskell & trying to hire him over to their site.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
But Driskell & Frank just didn’t mesh for obvious reasons. But Frank never tried to ruin Driskell’s site, that was Stu Coman.
