Pyne was pretty hard to cheer for

Why? He wasn't the most talented, but if you're not rooting for the guy under center to succeed then who can you root for?
Yeah, as much as this was directed at Goolsby, he's at least entertaining. Malik has the worst takes along with the charisma of an ant.

Malik does have some pretty bad takes, but he still loves the university and is actually charismatic.
Goolsby is fine. He's entertaining, and has some good takes and overall perspectives about the University that us fans don't hear much from former players.

But, his whole Hartman thing is funny to me. He believes that if Hartman is such a great QB, then why isn't he in the NFL now... after five years of college and several ACC passing records.

Don't care for Goolsby, but is he necessarily wrong? I get that NFL teams see him as a system QB playing with that whole slow mesh offense, but he's got 4 1/2 years of stats basically and hasn't gotten a decent draft grade yet? When a lot of top prospects are coming out at 21 Hartman will be 24 before he gets his first NFL snaps. Don't know if a team will want to give up a 1st round pick if that's what he's looking for. Lets be real, the extra time helped him break the ACC records and without the COVID year he wouldn't even be playing for us.

Fun fact I just realized: Hartman will be the last QB born in the 20th century to suit up for us.

I was pretty hyped with that bowl win. Buchner was quite entertaining, and for having been injured most of the season, flashed greatness to pull out the win. No need to mention his mistakes as there were glaring ones. However, there isn’t anything wrong with maintaining the hype for Buchner, even as Hartman’s experience will win him the starting spot. What Goolsby should be focusing on is the discussion of packages for Buch and time on the field to give him more experience. Maybe he is discussing this... I really don’t know that for sure as I don’t watch him.
I agree other than hype was huge for Buchner going into 2022 and that had to be a major let down. Yes he made some great plays vs scar, but that D was so depleted, so tough to take much from it other than he wouldn’t give up or fold even after epic mistakes. I’m all good with people having hope still with Buchner but they should be tempered realizing he may never be that good.

When we were in undergrad, Goolsby was convinced Carlyle Holiday was going to be the next Michael Vick. So maybe take the QB assessment with a grain of salt.

Crazy but he was coached by Ty so there's that.
Funny enough, Goolsby was also convinced that Bob Davie was a great coach. Then when Davie got fired and they brought Ty in, he started telling people that Davie wasn't good and you could tell the difference from Davie to Ty almost instantly. Now any reference he makes to Ty is derisive.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the same outfit that thinks Mike Singer brings a lot to the table is the same place that thinks Goolsby does. But different strokes for different folks, I guess.

The best podcast in terms of quality of info & insight is Jamie Ueyama and Greg Flamang. They’re not constantly carrying water for the Admin or Coaching staff, but they’re also not incessantly negative.

I appreciate all of the content IB puts out, but they’re simps for the Staff. If Kelly was recruiting some of these same guys, they’d be crushing him.

Narrator: "Neither was, in fact, a great coach. They were ass."

He does. He is right about the schedule. This 2023 season will be a tough ass schedule.
I think similar to 2022. OSU is starting a first time QB and lost a lot. NC State lost a ton. Duke could be sneaky tough. Wake obviously lost a lot including their QB. Pitt will be starting Phil.

OSU, Clemson, USC will be tough but I don't see another game where we shouldn't be at least a TD favorite.

Are they supposed to sit there and hate each other? Are we all 5 year olds? I think they should have some mutual respect for each other. Good on Driskell for inviting people on his shows. He still does most of the talking, obviously.
