ND's Current Class Ranking

Oddly, that crumby experience all of us just had seems to be motivating the young'uns that they themselves will now be a direct part of the next ND National Championship. Well, good on you, all you young winners!!

Good to read. Amazingly talented class filled with a bunch of solid characters it seems. Last year I came down with Deontay Greenberry Induced Recruiting Anxiety Disorder, and it has been tough to shake. Maybe the Irish Mob is the cure.

Scout just released their final 300. Rankings are total outliers from the other services. It's borderline insanity. Examples:

Torii Hunter - #41 WR, unranked 4... in response to his injury? Or what? Was killing it in practice before getting hurt.

Folston - #24 RB, unranked 4... seriously? Played great at CB in UA game despite NEVER PLAYING THAT POSITION BEFORE and he can't be rated as at least a good athlete?

Randolph - #31 OLB... 3 really? 31st best?

Anzalone - not in the top 100. Seriously. Barely top 10 at position.

Malik Zaire - #14 QB. Was consensus #1 composite dual threat QB before... probably not even in the top 5 now after you factor in Scout.

And many, many more. But Shane Morris is still a 5 so it's all good.

Michigan... I kid you not... is the #1 team on their rankings. We're #2. So I'm not calling them out or anything... they were pretty high on all of our OL recruits... it's not like there is ND bias.

I just think some of their ratings are all over the place compared to the other services.

He had a horrid senior season (was sick though, so I'll give him that) and absolutely stunk up UA practices/combine. He's living off of 7on summer camp performances and hype.

No kidding. I haven't seen everything of him but what I have seen makes me wonder how he was invited to some of these camps.

It should also be noted that even in padless camp settings Shane Morris wasn't that great either. Didn't even make Elite 11 cut in something he should excel at.

ESPN had Montelus as the #18 OT before the update. Elmer actually moved up if you can believe that.

All in all looking through their rankings they aren't bad... have Shane Morris outside of the top 100, for starters. It seems it's with their 3 folks that they just kinda stopped giving a crap. Corey Robinson #98 WR, Will Fuller #168... just crazy.

In hindsight...

Those updated rankings are a perfect example as to why I hardly ever look at them and care about them even less. Offer lists and our eye test matters much more to me than the rankings.
