lammmmeeee.... was planning on going to this game. Would have been nice to have a game there as well for all the AZ kids we are recruiting too.

Sucks. Means we're not doing an early end with Michigan.

Don't we still need to drop one more to add another ACC school?
8-30 Rice
9-6 Michigan
9-13 Purdue
9-27 vs. Syracuse @East Rutherford, NJ
10-4 Stanford
10-11 @ Temple
11-1 vs. Navy @Landover, MD
11-8 Pittsburgh
11-15 Northwestern
11-29 @ Southern California

This. Had planned to go with several buddies who are ASU alumni. Would much rather play ASU than the skunkbears.

You're right, by that schedule we still have to drop 1 more. Won't be SC, Stanford, Navy, or Purdue. Probably not Rice... have to have a warm up game, right? So either NW, Michigan, or Temple will get cut. Please god let it be Michigan. Will probably be Temple though.

I think it'd be hard to get out of the Temple game since they're coming here this year and expecting a return game, but I don't know how scheduling/dropping games works.

These scheduled games are governed by contracts. If one school has to break the contract, they pay a set amount to the other party.

I think Michigan will drop the game in 2014. They are so butt hurt that Swarbrick would dare give David Brandon a letter dropping the series. They don't want the last game of the series ending at Notre Dame.

Watch Brandon give Swarbrick a letter after the game in September.

At Georgia Tech, Clemson, or FSU would be just fine for me. I'm there!

it may not once the new BCS deal kicks in...and the Strength of Schedule, political manuevering, rankings, conference title etc take hold in selecting the "final four" in a committee. Jack has basically said as much.

I'll take a "final four" over today's "final two" anyday. I'd rather have a "final eight", but not going to complain.

Once they get these 4 super conferences I'd rather have a final 6. 4 auto bids for conference champs + 2 at large bids. Top 2 teams(selected by committee) get a bye.

I don't know if they'll ever have 4 super conferences. IMO, they will end up having 5. Those that aren't going to change much, SEC, Big10, Pac12, and the ACC. I don't see Texas and OK moving anywhere anytime soon, but I can see the Big12 growing to keep pace with everyone else. So if that's the case, I'd like to see 8 teams, with auto bids going to conference champs of the big 5, then 3 at large. I would prefer 6 to 4, but hope to see a bit more competition.

Things will change, but right now that schedule looks like dry white toast.

Yeah, I'd think either Temple or Northwestern goes. Temple most likely, right? Or we dump Rice and open against Temple if we're locked in to going there.

And we add three more ACC games? Hopefully at least one at least one against a top-tier opponent. At this point we've got - at most - three teams that even might impress anyone on this schedule. Also only two true road games, one at Temple? Let's go to Clemson, yes?

Sometimes. Depends on the terms, the principles, the circumstances, and the timing.

ND and Alabama had a home & home for '05 - '06 or '06 - '07 but when the NCAA hand down severe scholarship reductions over Albert Means, Mal Moore called White quickly and begged off. Moore was concerned UA wouldn't be competitive due to the deep scholarships cuts. ND had time to reschedule and didn't invoke penalties.

I understand why they had to drop ASU.....just not a big fan of not dropping a lesser team, like Rice, or Temple.....not overly interested in watching either game.

This schedule is weak. I do understand that we don't know what acc games we will have. We might Get MD, FSU Wake. and even still that Schedule is border line. But if we get FSU, VT,GT that would make the schedule a little hard and then keep ing Rice or Temple is needed.
