We should be up to 5th in the rankings. Better wins and lose than the other 6-1 teams.

Turned 30 years old Thursday.

Tonight was the most beautiful sight these eyes have ever seen (I mean besides the birth of my two girls, but I digress...)

Tackling, blocking, running, coaching, throwing, kicking... all looked amazing.

Most impressive to me was the dominance in the trenches and the team speed.

Up and up!

I kinda hope we only go up to 12th. Hell, even lose a few spots. Beating NC State is all that matters in the next week.

I will take a team with an OL serving as the leadership unit of the team over any other. Imposing our will is the mindset of the entire team, and it's beautiful.

So foreign to the past 30 years we've seen. And amazing. I'm drunk on the koolaid.

yup... at this point it's win out and we're in. I'd rather keep the pressure down to a minimum given that reality.

Way way early, but I also do not want to get smoked by Alabama in the NC again. Anything but that let down. Ok, I just pumped the brakes....I'm good.

Anybody who was at the game want to chime in? Curious how loud the stadium was and also curious how much of a party the second half was.

Couple thoughts:

-CJ needs to kneel when the kick reaches the end zone. That opening return could've lead to disaster.

-I feel like i'm watching a right handed version of Tim Tebow in Winbush and i'm okay with that. Man, if this kid ever gets comfortable enough to sit in the pocket for more than one read we might not ever punt again!

-Elko. nuff said!

-Coach Kelly. I'm proud of the way you've turned it around. I LOVE a power running game. There seems to be fewer and fewer lateral runs as the season goes on.

-Refs. I have to say, SC got the hose a few times tonight. I didn't see a fumble on their opening play and the defensive holding call that wasn't a first down??? What the heck was that? Why was it third down? Oh well, FUSC!

When the ball doesn't cross the line of scrimmage it's not an automatic first down. Darnold was sacked on the play, so they got 5 yards but not a first down. It was the right call.

The whole defence was great but Tevon Coney was the best. He was brutal.

Have to wonder what would have happened if Stepherson had been available against Georgia. Seems like he gives our O an extra dimension.

that penalty was the right call it only is an automatic first down if the ball crosses the line of scrimmage.

Notre Dame dominates USC and michigan gets embarrassed? I think I could lose a limb and it would still be a great day. Go Irish!

This is definitely the booze talking, but Kelly has officially redeemed himself. The Van Gorder Disorder is finally gone. I was super duper skeptical about Kelly, this year, but he is making me eat those words (happily). His energy, connection to the team, and drive are worlds apart from last year (or at any time in his D1 coaching career). Gotta hand it to him.

Although, he is always great after a bye-week, so I'm just gonna try and keep this optimism in check. However, the way that the team never backed down, never let USC even think about re-entering this game, and never really let the throttle off is a major evolution to Brian Kelly's coaching regime. His team's were notorious for playing to their competition, but he has far exceed expectations this year, blowing out several teams.

Gonna say this now. This team is the best in the Kelly era. He has a special connection to the guys, has their trust, and has his pulse on their spirit. Just watch his post-game speeches this year vs every other year. It's night and day, and one of the major contributors to this year's success.

There is a lot more football to play, but this gob-smacking of a victory put on tonight really helped set the stage for ND football, for a long time.

God Bless ND!
