Lilacs are the state flower of New Hampshire. Chip Kelly was born in New Hampshire and coached at NHU.

Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator all but confirmed.

"western sky", the "lilac" reference to NH as picked up above can lead me to one conclusion:

Chip Kelly to be named head coach after NFL season wraps up.

Helfrich will be his OC.

And we keep Elko.

You guys were both close. The riddle had only one indisputably correct answer which I posted earlier. I have already started tracking the flights from San Fran to South Bend. Chip Kelly's wife has already hired a local South Bend interior decorator. It is basically a sure thing at this point.

I think you nailed it. western sky, civil war (oregon/oregon st), lilacs. They all fit Chip Kelly.

Just hired at Ole Miss

Yeah I just saw that he is the WR coach at Ole Miss....Wonder if he would interview for an OC position at ND. Would be an upgrade from a WR coach at Ole Miss. We could only be so lucky. LOL

Because my first clue was unintendedly a bit of a red herring towards Lincoln Riley, I'll give you a second clue today.

Clue 2:
deltacrj2001.jpg

I have my next 10 clues mapped out... I will release one a day until the person is named by ND or I'm informed he's not getting the job. Whoever is the first to get it... and I'm not saying whether he's already been named... will be rewarded with a quadrillion vBucks (or a Venmo of 20 real dollars, whichever you prefer) on that day.

Chip Kelly isn't married

Chip Kelly as Brian Kelly's OC? We need that new giant press box to hold those two egos.

My first thought is that jet is coming from the west, but we don't know if the camera was on the north or south side of the jet when the picture was taken.

Maybe the sky as in the Big Sky Conference is the clue.

We also have Delta, connection and a jet as clues.

Using Jabroni in a sentence is a winner for me. It's clear LAX is a master scanvenger hunt player

On a serious note, with the info Bogs brought (good stuff btw) who in their right mind would jump into this staff?? Denbrock and Kelly have a falling out, Kelly has only promoted/hired from his own crappy inner circle, supposedly Kelly is losing power as HC, he's supposedly looking for an NFL job, he looked at the USC job last year, our players were instructed to actually have honest conversations with Kelly about the poor S&C....

I mean this place is a hot mess. We either have to shell out some cash and a long contract for a good OC or we're going to get a turd sandwich calling plays and butting heads with our butt-hurt HC. I just don't see this playing out well. Just my take.

So the first clue was admittedly a red herring. Not going to play along if the clues are intentionally misleading

Wimbush will be looking up to the box for signals instead of to the sidelines and Kelly will be purple faced and throwing tantrums.

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Memphis offensive coordinator Chip Long is set to become Notre Dame’s new offensive coordinator, a source told FOX Sports Friday. Long, who will get a three-year contract to lead the Irish offense, had also received strong interest from other Power 5 programs this winter.

In his first season at Memphis, Long led the Tigers to the nation’s No. 16 offense, averaging 39 points per game — the second-most points in school history — despite having to replace first-round NFL draftee QB Paxton Lynch and the team’s leading receiver and having only five starters returning. Over the last five games of the season, Memphis averaged over 41 points per game.

First-year starting QB Riley Ferguson broke Lynch’s single-season passing TD record with 32. More impressively, under Long the Tigers actually averaged more yards per play (6.25) this season than they did in 2015 (6.15). In games against ranked opponents this season, the Tigers averaged 6.70 yards per play — seventh-best in college football.

Prior to coming to Memphis, Long worked closely with Memphis head coach Mike Norvell at Arizona State from 2012-15. During that time, the Sun Devils averaged 37 points a game, finished with consecutive 10-win seasons (2013, 2014) and won the 2013 Pac-12 South title. Previously, Long coached on the staffs at Illinois, Arkansas and Louisville.

From 2008-09, Long coached the tight ends under then-Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino. He helped Hogs tight end D.J. Williams become the first Razorback to win the John Mackey Award.

Long, an Alabama native, is also highly regarded as a recruiter. He was honored as one of the country’s top-25 recruiters by Rivals and 247Sports in 2015. From 2012-14, Rivals listed Long as one of the top recruiters in the Pac-12.

Looks like he's an awesome recruiter judging by what he did at ASU.
