Irish walk off today 13-12 to complete the sweep of Wake Forest. Much needed after last weekend.

Irish are 12-1 at home. Looks like home field for the NCAA's may be our key to getting to Omaha. Need to finish strong in order to get into the top 8 but if we do we're in South Bend for any playoff games before the CWS.

I think we'd have made it last year if we played the super regionals in South Bend rather than Starkville.

Pretty much a lock to host a regional. Just a matter of if we will be in a position to host a super regional. Latest projection from ncaa.com has as #9.

Bad loss today 7-2. Was 2-2 in the 8th when the bullpen came crumbling down.

Not complaining given how bad our program was before Link came along, but we don't have enough pitching to go far in the NCAA's IMO. Bertand's a legit #1 and Rao is a capable RP but the rest of the staff is unimpressive. A lot of guys with ERA's over 5 who alternate between effective and awful.

Bertrand is like 29 and should be in Double A. This year’s team has not shown a level of consistency to go deep in the tournament. While it would be nice to have a regional in South Bend, the lack of fans is sad to see. Maybe they need a beer garden!!!!!

Basketball being forced to play in the First Four game after being the 2nd best ACC team all year, LAX winning the ACC and not making the tournament and now baseball not being a top 16 seed when they statistically are having basically the same season as last year. Also, RPI 14 and 14-7 against top 50. What a fucking joke all the way around with these committees.

yes this is becoming a trend. But they are not the same people making these decisions , each committee has its own makeup, no overlap from what I can see.

I’m not as well abreast of lax facilities for top tier programs. Do our lax facilities lag behind the competition the same as the baseball facilities do?

The facilities for fans and opposing players are not that great and will probably be renovated soon. Swarbrick has done a good job with facilities as far as I can tell.

I don't think the lacrosse and BB issues are related to this, except maybe a perception in those sports that the ACC was bad this year. But I don't think that's true in baseball.

Nah, lacrosse facilities are top tier. Hosted the quarterfinals last year as a neutral site because it’s one of the best environments around.

I don’t think facilities are the issues with screw jobs from NCAA, I think it is corrupt or incompetent people on these committees.

nobody cost the baseball team but the baseball team. they lost more than a few games this year that were blowouts and games that they should've won in general and the relievers choked saturday and gave up a ton of runs when the it was tied 2-2 late in the game

Agreed. Jarrett has to be on every short list from here on out. And you can’t blame him for leaving for a warmer climate b/c that’s the only places that can justify investing in facilities. I’ve hear Eck Stadium doesn’t draw more than 2500 fans in Feb/Mar b/c of the weather.

Tough draw last szn getting Mississippi St and this year with Tennessee, but let's see what they can do. They've been a streaky team all year, maybe they'll get red hot these next couple of weeks.
