Boy Lawrence looks pissed.

I feel sorry for whoever has to play him next year.

With this QB in this new offense, yes. But there is nothing from top to bottom about this team that's so different than prior years. My point is that small changes have gotten them there. One good coaching hire. One player. They are now championship quality.

ND needs more than 1 player and 1 coach. This LSU team has beaten more top 10 teams in one season (blowing out a few as well) than ND has in the last 10 years.

Can't wait for us to throw them into the dungeon...
My prediction... We play OSU in this same game next year.

Best part of the game was LSU student section being on national television shouting "suck that tiger dick, bitch!"

And three years ago they lost to Troy.

They also beat 4 top ten teams the following year.

Since 2017 ND has been blown out by Miami, Stanford, Clemson and Michigan. Arguably the biggest games in each of those seasons. Until you start being more competitive in games like that and winning a few (something LSU has managed to do before this season) talk of turning a corner is getting ahead of ones self in my opinion:

Can ND win a natty? Sure anything is possible, but LSU, Clemson, Bama ect have many more systemic advantages than ND. So yeah, it’s gonna take more than 1 player and 1 coach:

I’d have to review numbers before saying definitively but it’s one of the best I can remember. Unreal.

He just went 15-0, beat 7 Top 10 teams, won the NC, threw for 5600 yds, completed 77% of his passes, only threw 6 picks, won the Heisman and on top of ALLLL of that, threw more TD's than any QB to ever play at Hawaii or Houston.

This is pretty well how I expect the Clemson game to look next November. Ian can do it!

We've all known for years that LSU was a qb away from being terrifying but I dont think anyone saw this happening.

Dude was putting up NCAA video game numbers.

Remember when we beat LSU twice in the last 5 years?

We're closer than we think. Just need to turn the corner.

Bro, take the glasses off and stop the crack. ND does not belong on a field with either of those 2 teams. ND will never be able to compete with that. Beating LSU twice in the last 5 years is not beating LSU of this game.

IMHO. People forget the news of yesterday and some of us expect those people to remember what schedule we played and how the news affects their opinions.
For example: ask any press employee how long the 24-hour news cycle is and how fast you can change public opinion.
We live in a propaganda state.
I just wish we weren't going backward's with opinions after the best 2 years in the past 20 plus years...

Best 2 years in the past 20 years for ND Football. Which is fantastic. Don't get me wrong. However other programs are just better. No matter how good ND gets. If you think we are close to what was on TV tonight.. Well. I guess I can't help you.

Glad I didn't put any money on this one. I thought the Clemson defense that destroyed us and Alabama last year would show up. 42 points? Ridiculous. 463 yards passing. Lets hope our next OC can use that as a blueprint.

It's kind of ridiculous. He was a 4 star prospect that sat the bench at tOSU and then transferred. Made a huge splash in his last year and will likely go 1st round. He's the rare case where transferring ended up saving his career. He out-dueled the unbeaten Lawrence, and it just shows that stars don't always mean everything.

I watch this game and it was the first time it hit me all season just how far away we are from these programs when it comes to skill players.

It's funny. I was looking at LSU's recruiting rankings last night and thinking about this.

The LSU team that played last night was - on paper anyway - no more talented than the LSU team we beat in 2017. Actually the exact same average recruiting ranking, per 247.

Obvs recruiting rankings aren't everything. But it's remarkable what a QB and some good coaching can mean for a team.

That's pretty much my point. This LSU team is basically the same team we played and beat (roughly same quality recruits, same HC, same DC) but made two key changes (great QB, forward-thinking OC) and now they are a juggernaut. That doesn't mean it's going to be that simple for ND but it's a good illustration of how fast a change can occur.
