He is trying to backtrack now and claim he was referring to putting players in a dangerous situation. No Lebron, we all know what you meant.

He cares about Human Rights when it benefits his "brand" by doing so. Low point indeed for Lebron.

Give LeBron a break... he and his fellow NBA players went through a very difficult week. Who cares about the human rights violations, people dying, being tortured, imprisoned, etc?

I think we know who is really misinformed LeBron. What I think you meant to say is that someone spoke up for something bigger than themselves and wasn't concerned whether they were going to make any money off of it. Kinda like the same thing you praised Colin Kap for in the past. Oh... and that's just my opinion...

As they say, follow the money. He has absolutely no more real working knowledge of Hong Kong/China than Morey, yet he's more of an authority on the subject? Then he opens his mouth and inserts his foot with the "difficult week" comment. Are you serious? What is so difficult about flying in a private jet, staying in the best hotels with the best food? There was absolutely no danger to any of the players with their global recognition and spotlight.

I'm glad the Bulls don't have anyone good that the media care to get a China opinion on, cause I'm sure they'd disappoint too and I'd be done with the NBA for a while.

Lol, the NBA just keeps digging itself deeper and deeper into stupidity. Considering China is a market for the NBA, you'd think they care but I guess not.

I won't watch another NBA game. The NBA put more effort into defending people's use of restrooms than defending people's right to live and be free. Embarrassing.

Totally with you. As long as Lebron, Silver, Pop and Kerr are involved they won’t get any type of support for me. And that’s saying something cause I have immense respect for Pop as a coach.

I want the NBA to burn simply because I can't stand how much sports talk radio discusses it... it gets near the attention of the NFl while every other sport/league is almost completely ignored.

It gets very little coverage on NY sports radio but that's probably because the Knicks are bad and no one gives a shit about the Nets despite what Kevin Durant wants you to believe.

Maybe where you live, but overall? Dude they'd kill for the NFL coverage. The lack of it is killing their product right now.

It is part of the reason why their ratings are down. They've gone so global that they don't have the reach they need right here in the US of A.

They signed their TV deal at the peak of the TV bubble, so they're getting a few billion year until 2024, but they are down on eyeballs looking at the product on screen. Now with cord cutting and a lack of streaming options, they're hurting.

There is so much young talent in the NBA it's sick. They need to do a better job of reaching their audience. Kind of like MLB.

15% of their revenue.

Again, they need a longer reach here at home.

Shaq may be a fun loving teddy bear, but he knows what's going on. I would love for him to stay on top of this and pressure the NBA.

It's high time someone affiliated with the NBA says some of the right things. The rest of them seem to be trying to keep their mouths shut, hoping this will pass them by. There were protests yesterday outside of the Clippers/Lakers game. There was a crowd funded movement to get shirts made prior to the game, they raised double the cash they intended and made 13,000 shirts that read "Fight for freedom, stand with Hong Kong." One kid got the shirt on the TV broadcast:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">the best clip to start the NBA season is this kid baiting the broadcast into flashing a "Fight for freedom stand with Hong Kong" sign on TV and then the cameraman pans away <a href="https://t.co/B30ubY63CX">pic.twitter.com/B30ubY63CX</a></p>— Rod Breslau (@Slasher) <a href="https://twitter.com/Slasher/status/1186861461026623488?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 23, 2019</a></blockquote>

Lakers vs Pelicans was fun the other night. I'd like to see their paths cross in the playoffs, but the West is really really good.

Giannis could be MVP and DPOY. Ja Morant is ROY. Jayson Tatum could be Comeback POY. Sixth Man of the year could be Derrick Rose of the....Detroit Pistons.

Fun time to be alive. I Love This Game.

The whole forest fell in this thread.

No one cares about the NBA but the Chinese and Millennials who aren't playing Fortnite.

I did watch watch Game 2 of the '86 Celtics-Bulls playoff series the other night. THAT was basketball.

I tried watching because every sports talk show on the planet hyped it like the Super Bowl... after literally two minutes I tapped out and changed it...

Should have stuck around for the other 46 minutes. Bill Laimbeer wasn't running around mugging Craig Ehlo or anything, but it had it's moments.

I still haven't forgotten about Hong Kong, haven't watched a single game this season. Instead I educated my daughter this week on who Michael Jordan is/was. She thought he was the one that died in a helicopter crash.

I have to explain the rotary phone and Fresca at my grandpa’s house to my kids. They have no idea what they are.

I’m not surprised the NBA isn’t popular on this site. Disappointed I guess. I can get my basketball discourse elsewhere. For me, the nostalgia of Jon Koncak and Hot Rod Williams doesn’t fire me up. I’ve loved the League for 35 years. Completely understand that it isn’t for everyone.
