Kentucky football taking hits as signing day approaches January 28th

"With national signing day approaching next week, Kentucky’s football recruiting has taken some big hits recently that apparently have left coach Mark Stoops with just 15 commitments in the 2015 recruiting class.
First, Florida cornerback Jeremiah Dinson de-committed and now seems headed to Auburn. Next Ohio defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton changed his commitment from UK to Ohio State just as Ohio receiver Alex Stump did a few months ago.
The final hit came Tuesday with Scout.com’s Bill Greene reported that twins Andrew and David Dowell of Cleveland, who originally had committed to Northwestern before flipping to UK, were now going to Michigan State.
The Dowells committed to UK in October and were two of the four four-star players in UK’s recruiting class. Andrew Dowell was a safety-running back rated among the top 15 players in Oho and David, a cornerback, is also listed among the top 15 players.
Combine that with widespread reports that three current UK players may have been involved in a bar fight in Richmond over the weekend and it has been a difficult week for UK coach Mark Stoops."

Kentucky is losing kids to established coaching staffs that have elite facilities. UK is still stuck with benches and a projector screen for a recruiting room,” Loney said. “People say, ‘Oh facilities don't matter.’ Oh they do! Kids want to see the glitz and shiny new facilities. Ohio State, Michigan State and Auburn facilities are ahead of UK right now. Construction crew needs to step it up a notch at UK.

"Kentucky did add three-star defensive lineman Javon Provitt of Ohio to offset the loss of Hamilton.
“Provitt is big-time pickup. Provitt has SEC size right now and I think the staff could use him immediately,” Loney said"

Kentucky football adds one commitment, loses another January 30th

Bishop Gorman recruit flips from Vanderbilt to Dartmouth

Bishop Gorman recruit flips from Vanderbilt to Dartmouth

PERRY IS ALL IN WITH BIG GREEN

"Jackson Perry has always been adamant about education being his primary concern when it came to his college decision.

"SEC football, a world-class education, and a cool location, I really thought that was what I was looking for," Perry said. "After taking my trip this past weekend, it turns out that it wasn't the right fit. I have the utmost respect for the Vanderbilt program, it just wasn't for me.

"I am so excited about Dartmouth," Perry exclaimed. "When my family and I visited we were so impressed by everything. They showed me everything I was really looking for. They didn't just talk about the education and football program, but how the two work together. They explained the internships, how student-athletes find jobs after graduating, and all the details I wanted to hear about. I didn't really get that from Vanderbilt."

"Honestly, the idea of snow is really excited to me, as well. Hanover is a really cool college town and I really think I can do well there.""

Offer list also included UCLA and Nebraska.

RB from my high school named Aaron Forbes just got a Vanderbilt offer tonight supposedly. Was committed to Villanova but I'm guessing he will flip considering it's a good school and SEC.

I know I'm biased and would say that academically, Vanderbilt is definitely superior, but football wise I don't think that Vanderbilt, as a team, is much better than Villanova.

Villanova lost in the quarter finals this year by a field goal with their FCS Player of the Year QB out of the game, which denied them a trip to the semi-finals against NDSU (went on to win it). And they also lost to Syracuse by going for 2 pts. in overtime after missing a field goal with less than a minute left in the game to win the game. Granted, Syracuse lost their QB early in the game for punching a Villanova player in the face but Villanova had the best player in FCS this year.

When I visited my friend at Vanderbilt this year, they played Charleston Southern and won by only 1 pt...

Does anyone know what happened to Vandy's program? Was James Franklin really that good of a coach and was Jordan Mathews really good enough to keep them competitive in the SEC?

Read on Rivals that one 5-star player is leaving the state of Alabama for the first time since 2008. Rivals sucks, so they didn't even point out who it was. But that's crazy.

Lorenzo Fertitta is worth $1B.
If Dana White wants in with Lorenzo, he's worth $300M.
David Robinson is worth $70M.
Torii Hunter is worth $40M.
Chris Collinsworth is worth $12M.

You know what I'm thinking...

I just think most kids would prefer to play in the SEC than at Villanova. More exposure to scouts, better competition, etc. Nova is definitely a program on the rise but they aren't quite there yet. When you consider Vanderbilt is a great school so he wouldn't be sacrificing a good education I think it's a no brainer. But he is a good kid and I could see him sticking with his commitment.

Best part is only 1 or 2 of them would make the top 25 of ND Alum.

I was thinking that, but was focusing on the closest to the football program. Don't know how many of our richest alums would feel about slipping recruits some cash

Oh I agree. Huge difference between playing in the FCS and playing in the SEC. Also I'd definitely give Vanderbilt the edge in regards to academics. I'm just saying talent wise I don't see much difference between the two football programs.

Ha I literally just posted that in another thread. I'm assuming it's worth it?

I don't have Scout, so IDK. But it's technically a $90 value, so it has to be. I'd ask Arrowyan. I mean, it's the price of a Chipotle burrito with queso, so IDK if you can go wrong.

Personally, I'm not getting it. I was so disappointed with Rivals that I sold my 8 remaining month's log in for 1 vbuck, so I'm done with recruiting services for a while.

Screw intel, going back to my gut feel, which 60% of the time, works every time.

Georgia Commits and Decommits

Georgia Commits and Decommits

UGA’s Flip Chart (UPDATED)

Love the title. Flippant.

"We’re one week away from signing day, and it’s setting up to be a wild, wild finish for UGA. The Bulldogs have already had five recruits de-commit and go elsewhere, but they’ve already flipped five others from other schools. So it’s a draw so far?

That’s a crazy high number, but that’s how modern-era recruiting works I guess.

And what’s even crazier is that UGA is almost guaranteed to do some more flipping in either direction over the next seven days.

Did you realize six UGA commits visited other schools this past weekend? Six? I can’t ever remember that many this close to signing day. But the good news is none of them switched, at least publicly.

On the flip side (no pun intended), UGA has brought in three recruits committed to other school within the last week. And more could be on the way this weekend.
"

South Carolina has had seven decommitments. Tennessee has had four. Neither situation is like Alabama's decommits, which are recruits who are being told to look elsewhere or that they no longer have offers, except perhaps for Rico McGraw, who flipped from Georgia to Alabama, has decommitted again and will probably sign with Georgia. Georgia already has two other CB commits.
