Name our Defense!

Hey guys,

Now that we've got a world-class defense that looks like it's here for the long haul, I think we should nickname our defense. For example, in the 1990's, aTm's defense was known as the Wrecking Crew. What do you all think the name should be? Personally, I'd call them the (bad suggestion removed by consensus curbstomping in committee).

However, that might be offensive, I'm not familiar enough with the history of the IRA to know.

Interesting thought but the IRA isn't quite the image the ND Administration would like to see promoted. The last ND president wanted "Fighting" removed from "The Fighting Irish" and he did his best (damnedest) to make it happen. He almost succeeded until the BOT convinced him to "retire".


Before we get people suggesting and then getting excoriated for trying to horn in, you mean everybody at Irish Envy, the big "we", and not a 3 person clique, correct?

But perhaps we should wait until we shut down the Gold Team in the B&G Game. Right now "The NCG No Show Dee, is still a vivid nightmare.

PIRA was the group that had the reputation for doing the work in the "troubles." And no you don't want to even say either too much or put them in print to regularly. There are people who consider them foreign terrorists organizations, like the FBI.

I like the idea of the thread. Let's just agree that it started off on the wrong foot. No offense MNIrishman I don't think you knew any better. My children would be yelling "DO OVER" at this point. Anyway I like "The Irish Menace". I just like the word menace when defining a great defensive player. Wonder if Shembo will be toting the sledgehammer next year.

haha no man. I just did a quick google image search so people who might not remember that part in the movie get my reference, then I saw the second pic and thought it could be passed off as a weak TP design.
