USF had the same record as us last year including huge wins over stony brook, western kentucky, and Florida Atlantic, not to mention wins over a 4-8 Rutgers and a 4-8 Cincinatti team. They are all hype. We return 19 starters, they return 11. We are going to wipe the floor with them.

A lot of us Irish fans are badly underestimating USF, but Brian Kelly certainly isn't. Therefore I have faith that he'll get the job done.

C'mon people! It is time to tighten the chin strap a ****ing hit someone! We do not get scared of other teams coming in to OUR HOUSE! I know how we have not lived up to expectations in recent years and I am well aware of some of the embarrassments that have happened to this team. But that is all in the past. Just like the success of USF is all in the past as well.

It is time to drop all this negativity and get pumped up for this game! We are scared of NO ONE!!! LET'S GO IRISH!!! BRING THE PAIN!!!

I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer, but any hesitancy, or trepidation towards this game is completely warranted.

Do I think we'll win? Yes

Well, as I stated above:

UConn? - 2 years in the PAST
Tulsa? - Last year, but still the PAST
Syracuse? - 3 years in the PAST
Navy? - Still the PAST

Being nervous based on those facts is almost as silly as if I said we won't lose on Saturday because Kelly never lost to USF when he was at Cincy. The past is behind us and it is time to move forward.

ND fans get a lot of crap for being positive based on a National Championship 23 years ago and Heisman winners that are either retired or long since dead. However, I think there is a pretty equal dose of fans that show trepidation based on things that are merely a part of history as well.

You are entitled to be nervous about this game. That's fine. I just think it is a sad state when there are so many ND fans worried about a team like USF.

I am definitely NOT chalking it up to a W already. I learned that lesson a long, long time ago. I just find it hard to accept that we, as ND fans, fear any team. And especially coming in to our house. It is time we put those bad memories of 2007 and all the painful losses since to rest. The new era starts Saturday!
