i don't have anything nice to say about Bruce right with the way he sh&ts on fans now by interrupting his shows to talk politics and bash certain political figures, people pay big bucks for concerts these days and shouldn't have to hear politics but only good music

So you liked the movie?

I don’t know how some of y’all get through the day

What did hardcore Bruce fans think of Deliver Me from Nowhere? I consider myself a bigger Bruce fan than most for my age (30) but obviously less than the core Bruce fanbase, particularly for the Nebraska album.
I’m not a hardcore Bruce fan but I did see the movie. It didn’t do much for me. The Jeremys were both solid but the flashbacks and overall plot were boring. I’m also in the camp who thinks music biopics are mostly a waste of time

I’m just over the see through formula in most films today, if it’s not music biopic # 59, then it’s probably the exact same plot arc comic book movie # 302, or the reimagining of a Gen X classic with new age liberal spin # 89. It seems very rare to find something that actually hits creatively without heavy handed add ons or commentaries. So yeah, I’m passing of the Bruce movie. Just me,…

Definitely not just you. I'm about 99.9% in agreement. I'm so incredibly tired of the entire comic books on screen BS. No plot, totally predictable, and about as interesting and original as an episode of Lawrence Welk. Even worse is, as you point out, a remade woke version of an older movie. I'm not interested in seeing Preacher from Pale Rider portrayed as a half black, half Palestinian gay trans woman mullah who saves democracy from the Nazis. Fucking Hollywood has become about as useless and empty as a flat tire.

You do not insult the pride of Strasburg, North Dakota.
I have actually driven through Strasburg and seen the big sign at the edge of town about it being the home of Welk. I'm still scarred by him, though. When I was a kid, my mom loved his show more than life itself. I had to watch him every week. A-wunnerful, a-wunnerful my ass.

I watched a very interesting 2025 movie this weekend: Companion. It's a sci-fi thriller with a dose of black comedy. A completely human-like companion/sex robot commits a murder, discovers she's a robot, goes haywire, and the whole situation begins to go sideways. Everything the others do to fix one problem leads to another larger one and it just snowballs. Excellent premise, lots of plot twists, and great acting. Sophie Thatcher plays Iris, the robot, and she tears the role up. Well worth the watch.

I watched "Megan" over the weekend. Even though I had a good idea what it was about and didn't expect much, I enjoyed it. Even though it was obvious what was coming the movie did a good job of doing a slow burn and slowly ratcheting up the tension. There wasn't as much gore as I expected but it was well-placed & effective when it showed up. It's not going into my must-watch library but it delivered above what I thought I would get from a predictable premise.

We saw Project Hail Mary on the big screen. It's very much worth it. I do agree it was a tad too long but apart from that it was great. I enjoyed how the story was laid out and the special effects were very well done.

Wanted to see it in the theater rather than at home and it was definitely an experience.
I never got a chance to see it in Imax like I wanted. Shame, but I just saw it on the big-ish screen at home, and my God, what a great flick. I'm absolutely a sci-fi fan, and this movie punched all the right buttons.

I made a living connecting to my students with Goonies, Ghostbusters, Indy, Lost Boys and Gremlins references for years,… now if I’m giving a lecture and just to wake them up with a reference from an 80s classic they stare at me as if I’m having a seizure
