Watched Cannonball Run 2. Had a chat with my brother and we realized that the late 70’s and early 80’s was the golden age of real primates having significant roles in film and television.

It was a glorious time,... the chimpanzees were all over the place...
Bish's list probably includes Titanic, Thelma and Louise, Brokeback Mountain, etc..
It's nearly impossible to narrow it down to a top 5. In my letterboxd rankings I have 14 5* movies.
12 Angry Men
ESB
Blade Runner
BR2049
Hateful 8
Fellowship
Grand Budapest
No Country for Old Men
Inception
Reservoir Dogs
Parasite
Whiplash
Oceans 11

I missed the beginning of the convo when I responded to Gattaca lol.
If I had to watch only 5 movies over-and-over:
1. Inglorious Basterds
2. The Godfather II
3. Oceans 11
4. Iron Man
5. Pulp Fiction
'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' is better than 'Pulp Fiction' to me, but I think 'Pulp Fiction' has greater rewatchability because of the episodic nature of the film.
Why The Godfather II and not the original? GF I is probably my favorite flick of all time.
Sometimes when I'm moody, I'll put on Steel Magnolias too.

Robert De Niro as young Vito Corleone is a better story, to me, than Michael's story in the first film.
I recognize that the first movie is one of the GOATs, but watching the Don's origin story entertains me more, even with the modern-day parts being kind of a slog.
(this is also why HBO's 'Godfather Epic' cut, where the saga is presented in entirely chronological format, is the best way to watch)

I thought No Country was hugely overrated. It's been years since I've seen it and only that one time. Should I revisit? Or are you folks blowing smoke...
I'm not sure it's top 5 or top 10, but it's definitely a fantastic movie that ages well. Great characters/actors.
You say that about every movie though.
I feel like Debbie Does Dallas and Faces of Death almost made your list![]()

Lol. Nah.
I did forget Beer Fest, LA Confidential and Strange Brew. I watched the later last night with my kid (who had never seen it). He’s taken to saying “take off eh” as often as possible.
Now that I think about it Hoosehead would be a killer IE user name.

I watched Ocean's 11 the other night and thought about my list and think it is a close 6th. So rewatchable.
