FSU isn't in the SEC...pssst. :)

The link won't open for me at work. Who was it? Anyone EG would be competing with for the starting gig?

De'Andre Johnson. Tallahassee PD are doing everything now to protect the player and make this as public as hell for the victim. History repeating and all that

Who is the real winner in all this? Jimbo Fisher. He can now easily honor the agreement he had, but didn't really have with EG!

Or lack thereof?

Or lack thereof?

Has Mark Richt Regained Control of Player Discipline in Athens?

"Over the last several months, I've awoken each morning and fired up my cellphone keen on finding the most predictable of indicators of the Spring and Summer months in Georgia: A Bulldog football player being arrested for the kind of ridiculous shenanigans which would go completely unnoticed in most SEC towns.

And every morning I wake up to find that the members of the Classic City Canines have, for the most part (and to the best of our knowledge), kept their noses clean.

This has been a confusing development to process.

Police say Johnson then punched her on the left side of her face before they were separated.

Video was taken at the scene and the victim's account is consistent with the video, authorities say.

The woman suffered bruising under her left eye, swelling to her cheek and upper lip, and a small cut near the bridge of her nose.

As much as I love ND... if they had 5-7 players every off season "raping" or fighting women... it would be really hard to root for the program...

Over under on the number of games he misses? Less than Ray Rice, imho.
EDIT: Unless they want to free up a scholly, in which case, he gone.

Oh and technically, this is ACC related thuggery, but I'll give the Semenholes of Free Shoes U honorary SEC status if the board is fine with it; I cannot image why we wouldn't.

Florida's Deiondre Porter arrested on charges of shooting at girlfriend, suspended indefinitely - Alligator Army

By Andy Hutchins on Oct 14, 2015, 12:55p

...

Porter's name appears in Alachua County Jail records, indicating that he was booked at 11:19 a.m. on Wednesday.

What Porter did to get sent to the hoosegow (and suspended) only trickled out after that tweet — his name didn't show up in any online Gainesville Police Department records at the time of first publication of this post, and the only University Police Department crime log entry from the last two days that hasn't seen a complaint withdrawn was a DUI that occurred Tuesday at 1:36 a.m., a crime which would seem likely to have leaked in the nearly 36 hours since, especially given Florida's mandatory suspension rules for DUI charges.

Unfortunately, what Porter allegedly did is truly staggering in its malice.

...

With minor edits for grammar, this is what is written in the narrative portion of the report, which lists the date for the incident as 7:15 a.m. on September 29, 2015.

On the above date at approximately 0215 hours, the defendant confronted the victim about her being involved with one of his teammates. The defendant began yelling at the victim in her apartment, demanding that she tell him the truth about being with his teammate. The victim then retrated to her bedroom to avoid the confrontation. The defendant followed her into her bedroom, produced a handgun, and placed it to her head. The defendant continued to demand that the victim tell him the truth. The victim made numerous attempts to contact the teammate to prove she had not been intimate with him by text message as well as calling, but got no answer to either. The defendant told the victim that they would try again in the morning, and eventually went to sleep in the victim's bedroom. The victim slept in the living room. At approximately 0715 hours, later that same day, the defendant began yelling at the victim again about her being involved with his teammates. The victim continued to deny having any type of intimate relationship with the teammate. According to the victim, the defendant became enraged, and started pacing back and forth in the living room. During this time the victim was standing next to her front door. The victim stated that, all of a sudden, she saw the defendant raise his arm and fire the handgun in her direction. The victim said the bullet struck the wall where she was leaning. Shortly after, the defendant left the victim's residence.

The victim and defendant have been involved in a dating relationship since 2013 and the victim is ten weeks pregnant. The defendant was aware that the victim was pregnant prior to this incident.

During a search of the victim's apartment a bullet hole was found in the wall near the front door. A .45 caliber shell casing was also found under a chair in the living room in the area where the victim said the defendant had been standing when he fired the gun in her direction.

On 9-30-15 (the following day), the defendant was contacted in a vehicle with another individual by GPD patrol officers. The defendant was the passenger. The driver, a friend of the defendant, was subsequently found to be in possession of a .45 caliber handgun.

The field for the first charge against Porter is blacked out, with the note "Charge amended by (State's Attorney's Office) to Agg Assault, Weapons Offense, Criminal Mischief." The field for the second charge against Porter reads "Aggravated Assault (Domestic)."

It appears the incident happened two weeks before the arrest. Two games ago.

Where do they find these kids? I went to a GARBAGE high school in a very poor town, and none of our violent/criminal kids played team sports. They were off doing violent crime stuff.

Pair of Georgia freshman arrested Wednesday morning

Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick was booked by the Athens-Clarke County police at 2:23 a.m. on Wednesday morning for misdemeanor possession of marijuana according to the official bookings of the ACC jail. Fellow freshman and defensive lineman Chauncey Rivers was also booked by ACC on the same charge just 21 minutes later at 2:44 a.m. Both are still listed as in custody at this time.

Patrick, who didn't make the trip with the team to Jacksonville this past weekend after playing in all seven of the games prior to that meeting, played special teams and in a reserve role at inside linebacker for the Bulldogs. Rivers has played in two games this season and has registered one tackle.

This incident marks the first of the off-field variety for Georgia in over a calendar year. The two will face at least a one-game suspension and it's likely that they will serve two or more. UGA's policy for a failed drug test is one game with two games being more likely because of the arrest for a misdemeanor charge.

What a terrible recruiting advantage this places on UGA. Colorado's gonna get all their players.

At least they don't have to worry about TOSU.

Police said Boykin is being charged with assault of a public official, resisting arrest and public intoxication.

I know we are talking about 18-22 year old kids...but i will NEVER understand how someone puts themselves in a position to have this shat happen. Just a stupid waste.

It's a whole new world of stupidity and entitlement these days. When I was his age I would never even entertain the thought of arguing with a policeman let alone assault one, even if I was drunk.

Look at that "Affluenza" punk. Claims he didn't know better.

Recruit arrested again

Recruit arrested again

LSU, Alabama target Devin White arrested again, newspaper reports | NOLA.com

The most recent arrest was on misdemeanor charges of “careless operation of a motor vehicle and flight from an officer,”

On November 20th, White and a friend were booked on misdemeanor charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. The father of the 14-year-old alleged victim filed the complaint with police. Both players were released after posting bail of $1000 each.

White has narrowed his choices to LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss and (ACC) Florida State.

The SEC recently passed a rule barring the signing of any athlete disciplined for serious misconduct at another college stop. The new rule defines a serious offense as "sexual assault, domestic violence or other forms of sexual violence." Good thing for White that he is a high school recruit.
