Maybe we should just compile all of these stories into one thread so that we don't have to make a new one every 16 minutes.

Baloney. You have an agenda and an axe to grind, and you've intentionaly ignored what I said about "since Saban cleaned house in the summer of '08" and "before this week's arrests" at least 3 times and are trying to twist and exaggerate the rest. Why? Is it that important to you to smear Bama regardless of the facts or how you do it?

Since the summer of '08, we haven't had a single felony or serious incident unitl this week. I'm not rationalizing the asst coach's arrest. I'm saying straight up he didn't do anything wrong, the evidence showed that, and the charges were dropped. Sorry, but disorderly conduct for a shoving match, failure to disperse when the cops tell everyone to leave a scuffle outside a bar at 1 a.m., a HS kid jumping the fence at the city pool to go for a late night swim, or guys getting into an argument at a bar are not serious crimes no matter how much you want them to be just because they involve Bama players. I'm not defending possession of pot, but a 19 year old kid arrested for misdemeanor possession is not a major crime.

Now Wooly, you clearly hate Bama and don't mind twisting and exaggerating a bit to smear us. That's cool if you feel you really need to do that. But let's be totally honest here. Do you think no ND player has gotten into some similar minor trouble over the past few years? Are you really going to tell me that ND hasn't had a few 20 year old jocks do something stupid like get into a scuffle, buy alcohol while underage, or just act like a normal college student and do a few dumb things? What would you say if someone then tried to twist those things into a lot more than they really were in order to smear your program?

Gotta agree that some of this is small time, per average thug life world. But that's what It is A Thugs Life! Get over yourself!!

Did you just drag up a two and a half month old post to troll a poster with this garbage?

1ndfan posted something earlier today, probably in some other thread. I took it as sarcasm/satire/irony sans the italics. I was on the verge of defending him.

I was apparently (GASP, who'd a thunk it!) wrong. Carry on ...

awkward segue but this seemed like the right place to put this.

ESPN's got an article up about how Alabama is "innovating" and "pressing forward" super fast and it should scare the rest of college football. What that in itself isn't surprising, it does mention that Bama's new weight room was built as a response to Tennessee and Oklahoma State, and that ground was broken on the stadium before the board of trustees had approved the project.

ESPN tried to spin it positively, like "look how fast Bama moves guys". But its a little scary, if you ask me. Nick Saban is officially in charge of the University of Alabama- he's more powerful than the Board of Trustees. In no way do I mean to draw a comparison to the child abuse, but this is definitely a Joe Paterno-type situation. ...Damn. I just can't. The politicians didn't even slap him down for encroaching on their turf. Damn.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Kendal Thompson, who is vying to win Oklahoma's three-way quarterback competition, was arrested Friday morning on misdemeanor complaints of public intoxication and interference with official process, according to the Norman Police Department.

Thompson, 20, was arrested about 2:15 a.m. after police responded to a loud party call. As they approached the apartment complex where the party was, police noticed Thompson passed out on a nearby hill. According to police, Thompson's "speech was very slow" and "not making sense with incomplete sentences."

Police said Thompson also continually tried to walk away and at one point fell to his left into a cement barrier while trying to do so. After that, police said Thompson got up with his left hand in his pocket and refused to take out it despite several commands to do so. After a "struggle," police took Thompson into custody and booked him into the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.

Thompson, the son of former Oklahoma quarterback Charles Thompson, is battling Blake Bell and Trevor Knight for the Sooners' starting quarterback job. Thompson completed 8 of 15 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in OU's spring game last month.

An OU spokesman said the school was aware of the matter and is handling it internally.

In a state without a professional team, this is not surprising. I cannot think of another state where one would have this much clout. Dude is a boss.

Don't buy beer for the Olympians, the organization frowns on that and then you could wind up in this thread for real

Well my work set up the volunteer opportunity, and i took it because it beat being in the office. Since I was with other coworkers, I didn't want them/work to take it as I was picking on the participants.

Has the 'don't you know who I am' card ever worked? It has to be the weakest card in the deck.
