SMH, that isn't legal for a couple more seasons
If this turns true, isnt it grounds for forfeit of games he played in?
I mean, ND gave it up for less than this from the NCAA

It'd be hard to prove that Ohio State played him while knowing that he had taken the money. And OSU is definitely gonna tell the NCAA to pound sand when they ask for more details
So ND knew about the woman helping the players on the test when it was happening??? How is it ND had to forfeit the games but OSU doesnt?

I think the NCAA claimed that the girl, as a tutor, was a Notre Dame employee and therefore it was ND's fault
IIRC, she wasn't a tutor; she was a part time employee of the athletic department which turned it into an impermissible benefits issue.
I'm pretty sure they changed the rule immediately after ND.

A family friend for a whole 2 years? Makes sense. Nothing to see here. This will turn into a “poor college kid doesn’t have any money” argument notwithstanding the $200,000 college scholarship he is getting. Guaranteed.

You forget, we're special.
True
Some rumor sites are saying this might have been a lot of money. Makes you wonder how he would have paid that off if it really was a "loan."

"From a family friend I've known since the summer before my freshman yr." In other words, a <S>booster</S> agent he met on a visit to O$U. Pound sand Chase and the rest of you *uckeyes. Any chance Urb made the introduction?

A family friend he met before his freshman year? Hahaha, surely the NCAA, and anyone else with a working brain, isn't naive enough to believe this is anything other than a booster that payed this dude to come to OSU. This, my friends, is why we're losing the 5* fight with the big dogs. Those kids aren't turning down duffel bags of cash, or cars, or whatever.

So why exactly did ND get clobbered so hard by the NCAA... did the NCAA know ND knew about it only because ND actually punished the players?
