Box score review is head scratching. Albeit we played down for the entire 2nd half, but RBs with 16 carries is hard to believe. No catches for Pauling or Greathouse. Raridon with 2 drops. Losing the turnover margin 2-0. We were lucky to even be in the game at the end
pretty sure raridon had at least 3 drops. He was embarrassing and was running in quicksand on the long reception.

I do have faith in CJ. Next year can be special. This year I thought could be as well but I can't see it with this line.

This isn’t a negative post because obviously I can’t see every play, but did Devonta Smith and Jaylen Sneed even play?

Conversely, even when he wasn’t making plays, Traore was being disruptive. I’ll be surprised if a double digit sack season isn’t loading assuming he remains healthy.
Smith was out for a few plays....seen Sneed for a few but mainly Ausberry

The front 7 allowed 3.5 ypc against potentially the best OL in the country. I’m not gonna shit on them For that performance despite the rough start.

That being said… Hinish can not see the field in big games outside of obvious passing downs.

This^^^^. Longest runs were 15 and 8 yards. Plus ND stood Miami up on the goaline and refs let Miami keep pushing till he was in the endzone. The 3rd and short on the last drive they literally push the runner back before Miami OL pushed him forward for the first down. Onye and Traore looked good. Hinish got bullied, he's too small. I want to see Mukam get time. Mukam, Dawson, and Onye should be the interior with Rubio in on runs and Hinish pass.

I’m looking for a “dog” to step up on defense and in both trenches. We didn’t have that fire like last year anywhere.

Maybe go to bed man. We lost by three amd you're ready to demolish the program.
I’m not going to demolish it but we saw things from the team & the staff we thought we left in the past. If want to be considered an elite program that’s not how you do it. Other than not being a POS I don’t see any reason not to think we aren’t that much different than we were under BK. Did we fight hard till the end? Absolutely! But we still lost like most BK teams would and that’s honestly the only thing that matters.

I am sorry but when you have too 10 offensive player and your OC isn’t smart enough to get him the ball that’s a problem.

All the hype about the o line completely went out the window tonight.

Players were flat and just going through the motions.

Our Captain’s IMO from what I could see on tv failed as well. Not only with their performance but their ability to push each other and to play better.

CJ Carr is a fighter and tough a shot. Though he needs to protect himself some on the runs.

Fields looks good outside of the fumble.

I would like to know if Freeman put pressure on Mike to get his head out of his ass.

They better figure this out this week on the bye if not they will be looking at 0-2.

Carr was great, the OL was bad, the defense was awful at times and stingy at times...Miami made more plays. Sucks but is what it is. Good thing is that we don't have a 1 year rental transfer QB....very excited about the possibilities.

Positives (as I've said lots of negative things):

- CJ Carr is tough as hell. He took some shots where I didn't think he'd get back up
- Faison is elusive again
- Traore is a stud
- Great to see Botelho out there. No idea how he returned so soon
- Rendell and Burnette were both solid

I honestly thought we were going to lose by 3 touchdowns at one point in the 3rd quarter. The boys battled back. There is a TON to improve on from head coach and coordinators on down. Lots of season left

How much does Hinish weigh? Guy looks tiny compared to the Miami offensive line.

Yes lots to clean up. I think we came out flat. Maybe too much belief that what the did last year would just transfer over. Hopefully this is a big ass wake up call. We were so much better after our loss last year. Here’s to hoping.
We’ve got a QB and now hopefully our OC feels like he can take training wheels off. Get J-Love the ball, the more he touches the more he’s got a chance to break one.

Miami was better than I thought they would be. Hopefully Becks the best QB we see. That catch at end of half was an absolute back breaker. unreal really/

Here’s to hoping we see them in the playoffs and wreck their shit.

Offensive line doesn’t deserve to board the plane. Either make their ass walk home … they’ve got a couple of weeks till the next game … or pull their scholarship. They were a fucking disgrace.

The good:

Denbrock called a terrible game, but I think a lot of that is chalked up to not trusting Carr in this spot. That will hopefully fade as Carr gets his feet wet.

Not worried about the whole defense yet. First game without crazy old vets, new coordinator and 10 of Miami's points were improbable and/or the result of turnovers.

Carr appears to be Him.

Fields made the sort of play that playmaker should make when given the opportunity.

The bad:

Last year Rudolph appeared to have a magic touch with his ability to move the OL around with little drop-off. I wonder if he got too cute with this group. OL had massive breakdowns in assignment and capablity when it mattered most.

Christian Gray probably had a good game statistically but its going to be another year of holding your breath with him because he's going to get picked on as the de facto weakest link on a aggressive man defense.

The Ugly:

Denbrock's game plan until we went down double digits.

The middle 8.

Carson Beck.

Meant to add to "The Ugly": Eli Raridon's hands. What the hell is the point of being a 6'9" over the middle safety blanket if you're going to pop the ball up in the air like that?

Lost by 3 on the road week 1 with a freshman qb whose playcaller did no favors and put together a decent stat line.

I think we have a team here boys. If not, there is always next year.
The problem is if it is next year we are squandering having a potential generational talent at RB with Love. This was the team that could REALLY make a run with all the returning starters & a Heisman favorite at RB yet we blew it. The more things feel like they’ve changed, the more things feel the same as they’ve always been.

Thoughts:

- We came out looking dead. Like a fighter who gets punched in the face and doesn't know what to do
- I don't even know where to begin with the offensive game plan for most of the game. Not pushing the ball down the field, hardly utilizing one of the best players in college football. That interception was so obvious the moment the ball was snapped. I put a ton of blame on Denbrock for this loss
- We were poor up the middle of the defense. I think both the interior D-line and linebackers had a poor showing
- O-line was gassed at the end and it showed.

- I am extremely disappointed in all of the captains and their play. Shuler is to blame for that touchdown right before the end of the half. He looked like he was trying to catch a punt instead of attacking the ball. Pauling wasn't really targeted. Schrauth and Wagner got beat numerous times. Hinish battled but is too small. Bowen seemed to get pushed around

- It's early. We have a QB who is a stud and will battle. I don't think we lose to Texas A&M with the bye
Agree with all this. Will add, Ash needs to ditch the zone. That was brutal. Miami didn't have the receivers to beat us in man and Beck sucks against man. I personally thought Ash was a lazy hire. Still do until I see otherwise.

17-6 second half.

This loss is on Ash.

This loss is on Denbrock.

This loss is probably sort of on the OL.

This loss is not on CJ Carr. That boy is the truth.

I see 10-2/11-1. If Chris Ash doesn’t fuck it up. He figured out some stuff 2H.
Regroup. Beat A&M. We were 1-1 after two games last year.

Fuck Miami.

Fuck the ACC.

Make them open with us in South Bend.
Agree with all this.

Maybe, but having a dude at QB is so much more important.

I saw Sneed on the field but he was non existent. Another player we heard was doing so well at camp.

One player im gonna give credit to is Jordan Botello. Dude suffered a serious injury and rehabed his ass off to be able to get on the field tonight. Too damn bad he wasn't named a captain
Also Traore, Faison, Moore, Carr, Price. We had individual players who played tremendously well. Need to do it as a a team, is all. I think we will.
