I’d like to see the WRs more involved in the passing game.I would like to see Love and Williams more involved in the passing game. We didn’t have any plays where the backs dropped to get a wide open pass. Also no Jet Sweeps or 2 back sets.
I think ND knew that Miami's DEs are better than ND's OTs.Could be Denbrock felt the OL was a liability. Hence the screens and limited running game
I get it, but at the same time it's not like they let them march all the way down and drain the clock with a chip shot. The kid had to hit a 48 yard FG and we still got the ball back with realistically enough time to get into FG range. Not saying I wasn't disappointed we didn't shut them down but it wasn't a total lapse. The thing I’m still the most disappointed in is the last defensive drive. We had all the juice and came all the way back and they marched it down our throats. That looked like a BK squad. Disheartening.
Right. Agreed totally. A lot of overreactions here. Just reading the comments you would think Carr was sacked 6x and under fire every snap and Miami ran for 250 on us and put 500 yards up on offense. They outgained us by 10 yards 324-314 and we were going backwards the last drive. This wasn’t the bloodbath some are making it out to be. We turned it over twice and they had the ball 7 more minutes
I feel like this meme about struggling against Pitt hasn't been true for like 10 years now.The last 2 times we played at Pitt, we beat the shit out of them.
I keep thinking that this going to happen. I'm not sure if it does.I thought Denbrock might spread things out in the second half to open up the run game
Every team is now. There are no Albama's anymore. Like many have said even OSU lost 2 games and had to "moral victory think" their way through at least the Oregon loss last season. I have doubts there will be any zero loss teams this season.Someone please just tell me we're not Moral Victory U again.

Because they slept on the floor. The sheets are dry from last night. All the bedwetters woke up this morning and realized we still have a great HC and team.
Guerby arguably had the worse game against Miami. Easier matchups but still atrocious results. And if you switch your LT and RG, you're throwing off all 5 OL plus however many TEs you're playing. Familiarity with the guy next to you is important. I'm not pulling for a position switch at the moment. Next spring, sure.Anyone think Lambert is a better option at LT?
Knapp is a bit of an Anthony Volpe to me. The staff love him and nobody can work out why.
Maybe it's because Lambert was hurt in the spring but I'm not sure why they didn't simply switch him and Knapp in the offseason. Knapp's a good run blocker but he's too small for tackle and gets beat by good edge rushers. Lambert is still learning the game at this level but clearly has the upside.Guerby arguably had the worse game against Miami. Easier matchups but still atrocious results. So much for those two back sets.I would like to see Love and Williams more involved in the passing game. We didn’t have any plays where the backs dropped to get a wide open pass. Also no Jet Sweeps or 2 back sets.
This was in the early 80’s so 230 during football season and 220 during tennis. Lineman in high school back then in SoCal were smaller. I played center because I could long snap and shotgun well. Average lineman was closer to 240.Tennis as a Lineman??? Wow, what were you weighing 250-260?
Maybe Arch Manning stinks?Maybe 1, their defense is legit
Hey I’m just glad he caught it! Three drops up to then.On one hand it was painful that Eli had the longest catch of the game when it could've been Fields, Greahouse, Faison, Love, Price, or Gilbert.
On the other hand it was the catch that ND needed.
I’d like to see the RBs more involved in the running game!I’d like to see the WRs more involved in the passing game.
yeah he looked badMaybe Arch Manning stinks?
Yes, I'm assuming Jagusah/Lambert injuries are why Knapp remained at LT.Maybe it's because Lambert was hurt in the spring but I'm not sure why they didn't simply switch him and Knapp in the offseason. Gotcha, I was thinking early 90s but understandable in the 80s a 230-240lb guy would easily be 265 for Football FR year. This was in the early 80’s so 230 during football season and 220 during tennis. Lineman in high school back then in SoCal were smaller. I played center because I could long snap and shotgun well. Average lineman was closer to 240.
as good as this was... he could have just dumped it to J Love right away and it would have been a TD.
im just saying Love could have won that game

I’m starting to believe it was less about how great the OL was last year, but more about the threat of Riley Leonard’s legs.Could be Denbrock felt the OL was a liability. Hence the screens and limited running game
