I see it on MSNBC's front page and it's displayed fairly prominently on CNN's front page, too. Should we quibble that the story should be 6th instead of 9th in today's pecking order?

You've literally outlined how the media has been doing their job properly covering the story, it got enormously washed over by maybe the busiest news day of the Trump Presidency, and yet Fox News still has the murder as the top story....not a peep from you about bias?

You are gonna wanna give this one up. You lost bud. This wasn't the busiest day of the presidency. Every day with the Donald is busy. This was a national story that didn't get big league coverage today. And you called it local. LMAO.

Right... Rocket, just be honest that Fox, MSNBC, CNN, and most of the biggies push stories that fit their narrative.

MSNBC finally posted Twitter and FB's finding of Iranian propaganda.
I'm sure it was pro-Trump....

CNN's lead story is "The Worst Hour of Trump's Presidency"...

How many hours of the "worst" can you have lol.... I've seen way to many headlines like that...

Here's what I find interesting: those of us on the Right freely admit Fox is biased and slants news to the right. The Lefties here have spent the past few days denying there's any bias in how the MSM reports the news and claiming they do a great job being honest and just reporting the facts. I don't know if you're that blind or just don't care how dishonest and unethical they are since most of them are in the bag for your side.

Here are some articles on the same topic - Trump's Short term health insurance plans as alternatives to Obamacare.

First, HHS's announcement:
Trump Administration Delivers on Promise of More Affordable Health Insurance Options
August 1, 2018

Three articles on the same topic written on the same day:

Under New Rules, Cheaper 'Short-Term' Health Care Plans Now Last Up To 3 Years
(NPR, August 1, 2018)

Trump's short-term health plans are cheaper but cover less (Fox Business, August 1, 2018)

What to Know Before You Buy Short-Term Health Insurance (NY Times, August 1, 2018)

Which articles were more helpful in understanding the issue? Which had media bias and how? Which journalist(s)'s articles would you read in the future? Could you determine the journalist's political beliefs from the way the article was written?

The articles site a Kaiser Family Foundation analysis, probably both of these from April 23, 2018:
Understanding Short-Term Limited Duration Health Insurance

Analysis: Most Short-Term Health Plans Don’t Cover Drug Treatment or Prescription Drugs, and None Cover Maternity Care

So the Molly Tibbett's is absolutely a top 5 story of the day.....

CNN gives it a little line of text. All the big headlines, all anti-Trump.
At least they gave it text. MSNBC doesn't even mention it on their front page at all.

But hey, trust thy media....

Manafort guilty on 8 counts of fraud, Cohen reaches plea deal with federal prosecutors & implicates Trump, Rep. Duncan Hunter indicted by the Department of Justice, Christopher Steele libel case thrown out in DC court, Microsoft found new evidence of Russian election hacking, Flynn sentencing delayed due to possible Russia investigation cooperation, and we're still waiting for Guiliani to speak tonight, I believe.

Tough day for most places to fit in a local murder story.

So if you are pointing out the Flynn meh.... how long has it been? how many "delays"

If you think my meh was meant for the whole thing, which it wasn't, but actually the whole thing is pretty meh......, so tell me again how close is Mueller investigation is, to actually anything solid about actual Russian collusion?

I don't give a shit about Fox, unless you want to start saying how fair CNN and MSNBC are.... Fox is just another partisan new source. Another reason why everyone holds the media in low esteem.

ABC, CBS, and NBC all have Molly on the front page. Every local (for those that say that locals are more fair) I've seen has Molly on the front page.

It's been all over the national news for more than a month. Just about every major news outlet in the country has been covering it. Strangely, some have gone rather quiet about it on the day the murderer confessed and led police to her body. I wonder why.

It's almost like larger more important news trumped that story today.

This is a classic example of those whining about media bias actually being the ones who are even more biased themselves.

MSNBC and CNN have had this front and center. They milk the parents willingness to go for an interview. It's been a top story even with everything going on. Now it has ZERO front page coverage on MSNBC.. come on Rocket. There are plenty of MSNBC headlines that are less than this one. They have like 3 or 4 Cohen stories.. Do they really need that many? Omarosa's critique of Cohen... LOL... sure, that was really needed news.

This has been a charming argument, but you're forgetting something. These websites have less to do with presenting news and more to do with generating advertising dollars. At least one of you is in IT, and I'm not smart enough to know this stuff in depth (I have IT vendors to turn to) but analytics determine what stories are pushed up and down. These links/pics/etc. get heat-mapped to death, and are moved around because of it.

The trump stories were front and center because that's what everyone was clicking on. What you see as bias is actually advertising and marketing. You want to see some real "bias," take a look at porn heat-mapping data.

Then why don't you ever get mad at outlets like FOX or other right wing news outlets? Do you boycott them because of their inaccurate coverage? You seem to be more mad that your viewpoint is outnumbered by left leaning media.

Always cracks me up how neither side will hold their own side accountable. Instead, just talk about how the other side is worse.* Vote 3rd party, blow the whole fucking thing up.

*Does not apply to college football. Bama is always worse. Sorry.

Well I'm shocked today was a big 'meh' for you and you're carrying Fox News' water again.

To be honest, I see the Molly Tibbets story as the #1 story. Manafort and Cohen didn't lose their lives. The poor girl was murdered by an illegal which has been a point of major discussion.

Manafort's convictions were pretty much about tax evasion. I would imagine if the IRS published a list, his name would be one of several hundred thousands or more who have tried to skirt taxes. Am I glad they found him guilty? Yes, but the only reason this is a headline is his past relationship with Trump.

As for Cohen, he was also found guilty of tax evasion. Paying someone to shut up about an affair construed as campaign fraud? Technically it is, but to be honest, if Trump would have just ignored the stripper and let her speak, he probably would still have won. Clinton already set the ground rules for infidelity. It seems in today's climate when it comes to infidelity, America simply yawns. Any real news from Cohen that should surpass this murder hasn't come out yet. He says he has dirt on Cilnton and won't accept a presidential pardon. I suppose he won't accept a pardon, because he will use his "dirt" to get a reduced or suspended sentence.

Agree with you about Manafort not being an enormous deal. Cohen, however, testified in open court that the sitting president directed him to break the law to help him win the election. I don’t know. That seems like a pretty big deal.

As for the girl in Iowa, yes, it’s terrible that she was murdered. But people are murdered every day in this country. It’s mostly only news when they are pretty white women, and only leading Fox News-level news when some people want to make a big deal of the killer being an illegal immigrant, for their own political reasons.

As far as I know that has never happened in the History of the US. To me that constitutes a big deal.

We're not far apart here, but Trump wasn't the prez when he told Cohen to pay off the stripper. As I said, if his affair would have come to light before the election I'm not sure it would have had a major impact. There had already been rumblings of Don dipping his wick in the sauce a number of times. This stuff probably goes on at all levels. I guess I don't see it as big a deal as saying paying people to vote for him or brokering some backroom deals with companies or other countries. What I am really interested in, is the dirt he is supposed to have on Trump and Russia.

You are correct that the national media typically picks these up when it's a pretty white girl. I think one reason the news takes notice is because this is a situation where this isn't a common occurrence. Not demeaning anyone what so ever, but black on black violence happens all the time and for a few specific reasons, so the national media isn't going to run the same story (different city & names) over and over. This girls upbringing and lifestyle don't point to her potentially being involved in a crime.

If CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the gang had given little to no coverage to this story in the previous month, I'd agree that their relative silence after it was solved wouldn't be a big deal. However, they DID cover it heavily for weeks. It was only after an illegal alien confessed that they went, "Nothing to see here. No reason to cover it any longer." It wasn't just Fox making it a big story. Everybody made it a big story for more than a month. Some just suddenly wanted to "bury it on page 6" after the murderer was found to be an illegal alien, which doesn't fit their agenda & narrative.

Speaking of which...we have some updates to this story which I know you guys have been watching closely for over a month.

Immediately after the Manafort guilty verdict thousands of Russian bots were spamming about the Mollie Tibbetts death, ignoring other breaking news.

Not surprisingly at the same time, YJ posted in this thread Tuesday night complaining about the Tibbetts coverage THEN went to wave away the Manafort/Cohen news in the Trump thread. You can tell which sites he reads.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-democracy-trump-cohen-manafort-a8505241.html

There seems to be some confusion about Cristhian Rivera's immigration status. Also, he worked on the farm of a prominent GOP political family, I'm sure they knew nothing about his status.

https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...student-body-found-brooklyn-trump/1064567002/

Tibbett's family have been pushing back on the politicization of her death.

Tibbetts Family Ask That Mollie's Death Not be Politicized | Time

Geraldo went on his own network to say that Fox News has been gross with their spin on the Tibbett's murder.

The board of the Iowa chapter of Turning Point USA threatened to resign after Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens demanded they host an immigration event following Tibbett's death.

I've said 1) Manafort is no big deal, and it isn't. Has zero to do with Russian collusion or the campaign, 2) Cohen was the top story of the day, and 3) Tibbett was a top 5 headline for everyone (while the Manafort coverage was hot) including CNN and MSNBC UNTIL her killer turned out to be an illegal. If you want to criticize Fox for playing it up, criticize MSNBC and CNN for playing it up prior to the killer being found, and criticize them for immediately losing the story after. At least Fox was consistently a political media hack.

As far as bots are concerned, if you get your political news from FB or social media, you're a loser regardless of what party you're from.

For all CNN and/or MSNBC lovers, or defenders of the media in general..... take some time and watch the below.
On Demand if you have Starz

All Governments Lie: Truth, Deception, and the Spirit of I.F. Stone
https://allgovernmentslie.com/

If you like I.F. (Izzy) Stone, or a fan of true journalism, it's a great watch. It's an obvious indictment of the gov, but also does it's share of criticizing today's media. While there's obviously a lot of Left ideology, the writers had no problem going after Left politicians and media. Clapper was also in the opening rundown of biggest whoppers lol (for those who think Clapper is saint).

Wow kudos to Rubio for keeping his cool. What a maniac Jones is.

Honestly though, for Rubio to continue on listening and answering the questions, while this clown is screaming gibberish in his ear, is remarkable.

And some here wonder why we roll our eyes when they claim there's no media bias and that the media does a great job being honest and informing the public factually.
