The video is out and it is fucking horrific. The judges who let this asshole walk and the policymakers who brought the cashless bail, criminal justice reform, and have put these horrific offenders on the streets should suffer from it. There’s a reason people don’t take Dems serious on public safety.

No idea what to do, but the country is going to have to do something about social media and toning down the discourse from all sides soon. The two extreme sides of this country are so "bought in" on the other side being actively evil that there's simmering violence everywhere. In the last 5 years alone off the top of my head you have the capitol riot, Trump's attempted assassination, crazy guy dressing up as a cop to kill Dem. legislators, and now Kirk getting shot, possibly killed, by another insane person. Stuff like this used to happen on occasion but it feels like we're reaching a tipping point.

The dehumanization of other Americans who have (in the scheme of things) relatively minor differences of opinion on things like tax codes and social issues is a cancer.

We may already be too far gone. There is no good off-ramp for radicals.

Oh and check the numbers.... the economy SUCKS right now for anyone below the age of 30, but especially for college educated white dudes. It's poetic that the shooter here was a leftist boomer.

This country is no longer at a boiling point, it boiled over today. We are now shooting and killing a guy for his opinion, he isn’t even a politician. We are doomed as a country.

And no I’m not saying this as a conservative, I’m saying this as an American. If this happened to a democrat or a republican, it makes no difference to me this is flat out wrong. Social media and the media radicalizing people with political bubbles on both sides of the political spectrum have ruined this country.

It's been discussed before, but before social media, most people who got a bit too wound up over something were surrounded by family, friends, co-workers, and so on who had a braking effect on them. Their circle tended to rein them in, throw some cold water on their fire, and bring them back to normal. Today, it's just the opposite. They isolate, find themselves a group on the Internet or in social media that will amplify their anger and frustration, tell them they're right and justified in feeling that way and wanting to do something crazy about it, and turn it up to 11. There's little normal social and family influence anymore dialing things down for such people. Social media usually does just the opposite.

This has been my response, too. If they don't want to do anything meaningful to curb gun violence (including increasing resources for mental health, which could have been useful in Charlotte given that the guy reported himself having a mental crisis, and the response was to charge him with misusing 911), then better that it be someone like Charlie Kirk who says these types of death are an acceptable cost and not some 6 year old just trying to learn how to read.

Unfortunately, current admin folks like Stephen Miller don't help with situations like this.

His crazy, hate-filled, and vitriolic video tirades and X posts are very likely to incite people to start assassinating Democrat politicians or even to inspire a young left-wing person (heck let's admit, it would be a young white male, not any woman) to shoot him or another right-wing Christian Nationalist or MAGA personality such as Laura Loomer.

That stuff has got to stop or the violence will continue.

Trump couldn't bother to show up for the funeral for two lawmakers that were assassinated. He didn't even call the Governor of their state, saying it was a waste of time.

In his defense, Minnesota is a waste of time. Go rat your friends out on the Covid hotline or pound sand by a St. George Floyd mural next to a burned out small business. You will see candlelight vigils, not riots from this terrible event. Maybe Michael Byrd is doing campus security now so we can have some violence tacked on.

Let's at least wait for one Dem to get shot before martyring the entire party for all the risk they take there Jussie. Probably think Paul Pelosi is a victim too. Take the blinders off and realize your intolerant ilk are the problem. Conservatives and Independents are not threatened by words like the emotional, lunatic, heavily medicated left.

Maybe they could have kept the Charlotte fuck in jail and evaluated him there during his many other arrests instead of the Lefty judge letting him out. I would rather it be someone like that piece of shit.

That is a pretty big compliment - thank you. Maybe a few million 16-25 year olds will grow a sack and start speaking up for themselves and traditional values instead of being a doormat to debauchery and degeneracy.
