Manny is just taking a huge pay day on his way out the door,... Yep, three years too late... Too bad, I would love to see Floyd get his ass kicked.

Couldn't agree more, Manny is past his prime and Money is on his way. Going to be a slaughter if you ask me, hell of a payday though.

What I don't understand is how Manny is on the downhill but Floyd is status par. The time gone bye has been the same.

For those who follow boxing, any merit to the Pac 'roid rumors?

And for the record, I'd love to see Floyd knock him out!!! It is nice to see an American on top of any international sport.

Floyd has made a career out of not getting hit. His defensive abilities have done quite a bit to keep him young in the sport of boxing. He also doesn't drink alcohol or smoke or anything like that and trains like maniac.

The truth will really never come out for either the reason they didn't fight earlier and whether Manny was ever taking PEDs.

I personally side with the idea that Manny wouldn't adhere to Floyds demand for multiple blood tests for both fighters throughout training and right up to the fight because he had something to hide.

PAC could have just aged poorly and lost his KO power or he could have deteriorated after using roids.. I don't know

I don't really like Floyd as a person but I respect his boxing ability.

Pretty clear that pac was on the juice.

Mayweather will win this by unanimous decision

Thank you very much. Floyd ducking the big hit makes a lot of sense. But I assumed Manny also didn't drink, smoke and trained very hard as well.

I personally side on the same side you do. THE FIGHT OF THE DECADE...doesn't happen because he won't submit to a drug test..right?.

If they fight, I hope Floyd knocks him into the front row...

Pac was willing to submit to testing a couple years ago then Floyd's camp demanded daily blood testing, which Pacs camp said was beyond excessive, would thrown a wrench in his training schedule and impact his energy, so they gave them the bird..... That was then.

If Floyd submitted to the same testing wouldn't be irrelevant? Just asking. Everything seems like a cop out.

I would've loved to see this 4 years ago when they were both smacking people around. It seems more like when Tyson fought Lewis now. Old hat! I'll probably go to the pub and watch it anyways. It's now just a reason to hide from my wife and drown myself in oral ethanol!

You're not the only one, ha. Even non-boxing guys, as myself, will watch it.

Boxing died when the heavy weight division died. I miss the days of Hagler, Sugar Ray, Hearns, Duran. That was the hey-day of boxing.

The fight that killed boxing was, coincidentally, one of its best ever: Hagler-Leonard. It was the first big ticket PPV.

I'm confused, you say boxing died when the heavy weight division died then you list a bunch of middle and welter weights...

I gave up on boxing when Fernando Vargas lost to pretty boy de la Hoya... Can't stand oscar.

Hopefully the heavyweight division can get a bit of a boost if they set up a unification bout between Klitschko and Deontay Wilder within the next couple of years. I'm actually a bit of a Klitschko fan, but it would be nice to see an undefeated American with a chance to bring the title back.

Anybody watch the Outside the Lines about Mayweather? This dude has five CONVICTIONS for domestic violence and several other accusations that didn't go to court.

How does the Nevada SAC not only allow him to fight, but also go completely unpunished for any of his convictions? Can you imagine the NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB let a player continuously go unpunished for this type of thing?

I'll be rooting for Manny, thanks.

I'll be rooting for Manny, as well. Unfortunately he is four or five years beyond his prime fighting days. This fight won't tell us much about either fighter. It could have been a memorable fight if it had been fought when both were in their prime. Unfortunately, neither is the fighter he once was.

Boxing began to decline as a popular sport when every major fight went to pay-per-view. I remember watching a number of memorable fights on television. Now, I rarely see a fight worth watching. When the fights were televised for free on the commercial networks, the fighters gained national recognition. Howard Cosell on the Wide World of Sports helped many boxers get name recognition and generated interest in their fights. Now, the general public couldn't name most of the best fighters. Lack of name-recognition equals lack of interest.

I wouldn't count on it, just getting cell service or wifi at the resorts in punta or casa de campo is an issue down there...

Yeah, I've been there before and just left my phone in the safe. But you don't think they'll be able to get a pay-per-view fight? The resort has a sports bar, was thinking the fight would at least be on there.

mayweather has ducked too many fights in his career for me to ever really respect his undefeated record in any way.
after he won the split over delahoya, he "retires". no rematch.
he should have taken this fight with many 5 yrs ago.
to me this thing is just a money making exhibition.

mayweather is an undefeated fighter but not a great fighter.
he is the IE equivalent of an SEC team that pads its schedule with cupcake opponents...

when your own father decides to train the fighter you are fighting...you have to be a POS.

im sure concacaf soccer will be on ....but pay per view fight?-highly doubt it.

there is a good sports bar in that indoor/outdoor mall in punta its "Americanized" bar we went there to watch some Stanley cup playoffs last time we were there because we couldn't get anything at resort we were at.

Gotcha, it'll be our first night there and I bet we don't get to the resort until 9ish or so...doubt we'll be leaving then but thanks for the insight.

Sucks if they don't b/c as a non-boxing fan I was looking forward to this fight. And it has been a loooong time since that happened.

I would bet the fight will be on. Few people love boxing more than the people of Mexico. Granted neither fighter is a Mexican which may lessen the interest but I would bet it would be on, here in KY I used to always go to a Mexican restaurant to watch boxing PPVs.
