This guy can sell ice to an eskimo. Brings huge energy. Really hope we can hold onto him for a few years.

BK - "I'm tired of losing to the national champion. I'm tired of losing to Clemson...Alabama."

I really get a feeling that ND might be going scorched earth so BK can snag a natty before riding off into the sunset.

The recruiting Coach Freeman will do in his time at ND can change the trajectory of the program. The ability to pull elite players from the backyard of elite programs is what wins natty's. I give so much credit to BK and Swarbrick for getting him in.

Yeah, I was huge on Clark's "intellectualism" , but after listening to this, Marcus might be even higher in that category (not to mention way higher in every other).

What a coach!

Listening now and this is incredible, I've gotten goosebumps a few times already.

Best line so far is him talking about his kids and if he was asked 5 months ago where he wanted his 4 boys to go, he would have said Ohio State. And now..."But I care about their life more than just the NFL...until someone else shows me, there's no where else in the country like this place (Notre Dame)."

Man, if you haven’t listened to that podcast you absolutely need to. A ton of great insight and he’s a rockstar. He even talked about recruiting examples of letting kids decompress after visits because Notre Dame is always going to win out just like it did with his choice over LSU. I think the example he gave was Benjamin Morrison about trying to commit to another school at a visit and he got him to decompress and realize ND was best. Idk I may be off but that was my first guess of who he was talking about.

Could be, we’ll have to see on Morrison. Just got around to listening and it somewhat fits what Devin Moore said.

If not for Freeman it would be a hard listen - Zorich is not a solid interviewer. Pleased he let FM just talk.

No deed to judge 50 on his interviewing skills. This is a 10. Period.

What? Is this sarcasm?

No, I was being honest. But I also had a feeling I would get this reaction.
To explain, I had never even heard of Notre Dame University (or even really college football) until Rudy.
Never got into college football until it became available to watch out here about 10 years ago.

That nerdy looking dude in the broadcast, was one of ND's all time bad asses regardless of position. Watch a game on YouTube and pay close attention to his free hand. Dudes across from him had to be terrified.

No worreis man, we were all at that point in our lives one way or another. I myself had to go back and learn about the guys I didnt know much about pre Faust. The 86-93 era had some ELITE players. Some of the best ever. Zorich was one of them. A total badass.

It is pretty amusing to watch Notre Dame highlights from that period....ND is just mean and mashes people, runs by people, through people, etc.

I remember hearing Jeff Burris talk about arriving on campus and seeing the upper classmen on the team and being in awe at their skill levesl just doing elite shit all the time. Burris was probably the 2nd best running back in the country that year and ended up having to switch to DB and Iron manned in offensive goal line sets. Jeff came into the team with Jerome Bettis. He and Jerome came into a team that already had Ismail, Watters, Levens Brooks, and Culver LMAO..

Burris should have been a two way player - best basketball player on campus. Then again I don't blame Lou for not sharing with John MacLeod.

One of my fav things to do in college was go to our wellness center the week they let the football players mix in with the regular students and play basketball. Some of those kids could ball out...but at the end of the day, there was a reason they weren't on the basketball team.
