Very much. The Inside the Garage Pod of them talking about Freeman and Rees was great. Cam Hart jawing with Rees. Freeman team meetings. Freeman has the cool swagger and Rees has a little dry humor and cockiness to him, in a good way

Tommy should be cocky. After all... he's the stereotype of an intramural flag football QB and he was a starting QB at ND for years.

He has got to feel invincible

Freeman doesn't need to be Brian Kelly at X's and O's... if he is as likable as it seems, ND is gonna have the Jimmy's and Joe's to wreck people.

The thing is though, he’s extremely highly thought of schematically. He has potential to be a rockstar.

i hope he's a rockstar, cause i know texas and nebraska thought they had rockstars when they hired tom herman and scott frost. the truth is we arent going to know for sure untill next season what we got.

Right, but that's also a reminder that being a HC with a great record does not guarantee success at a new job.

saw on another board that MF is trying to get brain hartline as WR coach and passing game coordinator. does anyone know if this is true and could MF really pull hartline away form OSU?

I think it’s a near zero percent chance but I appreciate him at least making the phone call.

It's a longshot, but it doesn't hurt to put the offer on the table. If Day jumps to the NFL and Hartline doesn't like the way that OSU is trending after his departure, he might consider it. Otherwise, it's hard to see how it would make sense for him.

Yes. He was the first person he called to try to add to the staff.

Doubtful he comes but it doesn't hurt to try.

Yeah like others have said its a longshot, like borderline no shot. He loves it there and makes good money. I would think ND would have to blow the doors off his current contract to get him.

Scott Frost is interesting.. He took over a terrible program in the geographic center of the US where the population is super sparse in a way no blue blood can understand.

They lost to 6 ranked teams by an average of 6 points/game.

People talk about South Bend like it's in a bad location. Why? Indiana isn't exactly loaded with P5 talent. But ND has national appeal and is close to several cities.

Nebraska has like 3.5 million people total.

I dont think it's easy to do a quick resurrection in Lincoln. They just aren't positioned to get things turned around quick. There isn't much in-state talent and they are surrounded by either recruiting wasteland (the Dakota's/Wyoming) or other rural states that have P5 schools but not enough talent to go around.

I usually pay attention to how many states the recruiting class represents for ND. I predict 18 states in 25 boys this year.

It's going to be interested with Freeman as the coach how many guys actually decide to use their extra year of eligibility and come back to play for him next year. I would believe quite a bit do. Also will be interesting how many transfers are interested in coming this offseason?!

This might be the one and only day our Irish are this beloved by outsiders. It feels so good for other to finally see the light. What a day for Notre Dame and the football program.

Asking if he has any divided loyalties between ND and OSU. Come the fuck on. Gave a great answer, though.

It's a great day for ND football!! This is going to be a day we remember when The Irish took a major step forward towards being dominant once again!
