I want Manti to win the Heisman so when he gives his speech the rest of the country can see in him what us ND fans have seen for the past 4 years. People that don't follow the program can't even come close to comprehending how important he is to ND.

Whatever NFL team gets him will be very lucky, but also the city will be lucky. Just having this kind of a presence in the community will be amazing.

I'm about to be late to class because I took the time to read this, but I don't even care. It was worth it.

Someday when I'm old, I'm going to be telling my players and children about the legend that was Manti Te'o.

It would be pretty awesome to get a picture of those statues covered in leis. Anybody seen any out there on the web?

I went to the Getty Images website and search by "Te'o" and there are some amazing shots of him. Check it out if you have the time.

I like to call this one, "Here comes the boom!"

Good article. Thanks for sharing. He is a fine example of what Notre Dame should strive to recruit.

It provided context for just what Manti means to ND, and just how much he has done and is doing.

To get spiritual just for a second, I believe there are very definite reasons the path was cleared for him to go to ND. I don't think there is any accident or coincidence with a highly touted LDS player attending the most recognized Catholic school in America. Sometimes things need to be in place to make the example stand out that much more. If he went anywhere else, BYU, USC, anywhere in the SEC, this story would not be like it is.

Just reading that article and seeing what he does makes me want to do things to change how I am and how my faith is.

I get the feeling that like all legends it won't be a story you have to tell. But more along the lines of bearing witness of just how great he was.

After midnight had passed and the tailgaters had left, the faithful piled the leis on the statues of Dan Devine, Lou Holtz and Knute Rockne outside the stadium. On a cold autumn night in South Bend, with Notre Dame’s football fortunes finally revived, the leis were a tangible sign that Te’o had linked the program’s glorious past with a promising future.

That is all.

You can go anywhere and be a great football player, but you go to Notre Dame to be a legend.....

Thanks for sharing, does anyone know if that issue with Manti on the cover is just regional?
