I don't know much about the NBA but I hate Lebron

I also don't see how overall moral character or management skills have anything to do w/ playing basketball

I don't like either player, but anyone who says Jordan is not the greatest player of all time needs to watch his highlight tapes. End of the game, Jordan with the ball, all you can feel is pity for the defender. Lebron is not even close to Jordan, especially when it comes to the mental aspects of the game. I was laughing my @ss off when he was snarling every time the camera was on him it was so contrived.

Also, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Michael Jordan would never sit out of the final minutes of an NBA finals game with a f***ing leg cramp. Neither would Kobe, Reggie Miller, Bird, Jerry West, Magic, etc.

Scottie Pippen is no Dwayne Wade. Some other "greats" that started side by side with Jordan. John Paxton (Go Irish), Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman, Steve Kerr, Bill Cartwright (I mean, seriously), a host of other pathetic centers (I remember the three headed monster but not their names), need I go on? MJ made his supporting cast better, not that Lebron doesn't but his supporting cast is starting from a much higher bar than MJs ever was.

What did the bulls do the two years Jordan took off? What happened to the Cavs when LeBron went to Miami?

I may be able to compete with you for the title of biggest fan.

Additionally, we could ask his airness if Lebron is better than him.

I am not sure about that. I had season tickets growing up when most kids were watching Cartoons I was watching Bulls game. Glad to see another Bulls fan though.

Passing to Kerr or Paxson, two great 3-point shooters, is slightly different from passing to Udonis Haslem for a 20-footer.

not when Haslem makes that shot 8 out of 10 times.

I'm not arguing that LeBron is better than Jordan, not close right now. It isn't really possible to compare Jordan's entire resume to LeBron's half resume. No one knows how LeBron's will turn out. How many titles and finals MVPs did Jordan win before he won his first?

Perth, no offense man but how old are you? I ask that not in a sarcastic tone.

LBJ would get hammered against Magic and the Lakers. He would get destroyed by the Bad Boy Pistons. He does not have his Craig Ehlo moment, his shoulder shrug moment, his flu game. The rules are so much more geared to the offense these days then they were just 15 years ago.

Can not compare salaries either because of the different eras. MJ built a multi-billion dollar empire. If you then want to.compare size and athleticism, then with MJ being 'smaller' at 6'6 and less 'athletic' then LBJ his resume is that much better.

This is not a knock on LBJ either. LBJ is hardly at the Kobe level let alone MJ.

By the way, MJ was a terrific defender. Pippen was better at defending then MJ though.

And Jordan is a successful businessman to boot. I place a higher probability on Lebron ending up bankrupt someday. Reps from Nike and a long list of other companies. Wonder which way he votes? (Free game since you opened it up, yo.)

You're joking right?

Come on man...8 out of 10 times? I like Haslem but that's definitely not his game. Also, Lebron had a decent look on a buzzer beater if I recall correctly. Regardless, Lebron is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats. His physical ability is unmatched. However, what I believe keeps him from being at the same level as Jordan, or even Kobe is his lack of a mental edge. If he develops that indomitable will to win at all costs at the end of games, he has an excellent chance to surpass Jordan. I just don't see it happening. He doesn't have Jordan and Kobe's pathological desire to win. The greats have that. In fact, I wish more of ND's players had that - if they did, there would have been no way in hell we lost to Michigan after two straight heartbreaking losses.

I just busted out laughing imagining Lebron playing against the Bad Boy Pistons. I have a feeling he'd have a lot more than a leg cramp to worry about haha.

No. I don't think anyone will ever beat MJ.

But...

He has a chance to make it so that this conversation isn't completely ridiculous.

I'm 24. But to that point, minus LBJ the Cavs are the worst team in bball (besides the Bobcats but they're really a D-League team). Minus Jordan the Bulls still made the playoffs. Right now their careers don't compare. All I'm saying is it's not out of the question that Lebron could match Jordan by the time it's all said and done. I just find the reflexive hatred of Lebron, and questioning every pass or shot he makes irks me. Dude's got skills.

Also, I think he may have fared better vs. those old Piston teams simply due to his physicality. The guy's 6'8 250. Actually on ESPN they were going over what constitutes a foul and the ref said you have to hit Lebron harder for a foul to be called. Loss of body control, not severity of contact decides whether a foul gets called.

Do you understand what a cramp is like? It's impossible to move effectively (if at all), and staying in would kill your team only to serve your own ego, so yea maybe Kobe would have stayed in the game... Plus he scored 5 points with the cramp including the go ahead 3.

LBJ came into the league as the so called Chosen One. That rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. The Decision was another mistake as was the press conference right after that. It still is possible for LBJ to surpass MJ in rings and maybe even the dominance MJ displayed consistently.

It's not physical with LBJ, its the mental aspect that places him on the lower tier. Mentally its why I say he would have a terrible time against the Pistons, Lakers, Bulls, even the late '90 Jazz.

And Lebron has to contend with Rose, Durant, Westbrook, Kobe, the Spurs organization, the Celtics (a few years ago when they were younger.) Don't knock today's talent. It's not a cakewalk. Plus, from a moneyball perspective, the rest of the team is weaker than say the Thunder minus Durant. Outside of Wade and Bosh the overall talent is weaker and the rotation is smaller.

This is the funniest part.

Bird, Magic, James Worthy, Drexler, Barkley, Malone, Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Ewing...

Lebron is a much better facilitator than Jordan ever was. Furthermore, his physical gifts make him a better defender. His game is just different than Jordan's. We'll have to wait until his career is done to decide where he ranks.

He should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as Jordan. I don't know if anyone today should be, but if there was someone it'd probably be Kobe.

We've got 10 years. Durant and Rose will be all time superstars by then and you'll have a few new superstars entering by then as well. The competition is just fine. I think the complaints Jordan played so much better guys is overblown.
