Kirby doesn't seem to have the same control over his teams the last two years. I think they have won a few games on talent a lone. Questions is if we get in that same situation does our talent and superior esprit du corps win us the golden ticket? I think the leadership and team building MF has done is the real key to his coaching

I want to get him rattled early. I'll leave it to the staff to figure out how to do that. Under Kelly, it seemed all too common to let inexperienced QBs ease into games.

I would think the best practice might be to just take away the run with a heavy box. Make this guy beat ND and put some hits on him. Nothing dirty but I wouldn't mind seeing a guy put a lid under his chin.
I just worry that stacking the box will leave easy one-on-one opportunities for him on the outside

It's been an awesome year.

Likely too many injuries on defense, and WRs who won't threaten georgia will make it difficult to win.
Please post this to UGA forums and the UGA fans. ESPN and those dumb broadcasters seem to think Kirby has bulletin board material for his uneducated players.

Agree, on Faraimo, which is good news if anything. Elite Pass rusher > LB, and edge is a position we typically aren’t great at recruiting.

Need to hit on 2 stud LBs in ‘26 tho - Davis a v good start.
Recruiting has been meh but also our D-line hasn't been the same in general since Elston left.

Outside of Leonard, Love and X, who’s the player that is going to step up and have a bigger than usual impact? I’m going with Sneed.

Offense — Williams and Price will have better games rushing the ball than Love. Evans makes some big catches.

Defense — Ausberry is playing 70 miles away from his hometown. He shows up and makes big plays.

Price tends to bounce everything outside instead of lowering his shoulder and taking 3-5. The kid constantly breaks big runs, which has been incredibly valuable, but Georgia’s defense is far less likely to give him the open field he’s found against other opponents. I'm not sure how often you hand the ball off to him on the slim chance he hits a home run if the risk is a drive killing 2d and 11 instead of a manageable 2d and 6.

I think Leonard is going to get a lot of carries and those will limit Price's touches. Love gives you the same home run threat and he's far more likely to consistently get positive tough yardage. I think we’re going to see a heavy dose of both Leonard and Love in this game, and I don't see Price being a bigger factor than Love.

I'm wrong a lot and really don't give a shit who runs it as long as someone runs it. Hopefully, he goes off for 150 and 2 TDs. I'd happily come back and tell you how right you are.

I would add one thing - Georgia's struggles to stop the run is largely due to what's between their ears, so if they can catch them not reading keys or over pursuing to stop Leonard, a nice counter with a fresh Price could hit.

It is an interesting conversation to have. This is from an article in The Athletic between Pete Sampson and the GA beat writer on what has been the issue with Georgia's run defense this year:

It’s been more running to the edges, which is partly not being great tackling in space, partly not having that Jalen Carter/Jordan Davis in the middle that allows you to spread out your defense. But Georgia’s red zone defense has been pretty good, especially against Texas. The issue is before the red area: Georgia has given up a lot more explosive plays than in past years. At its best, Georgia is a bend-but-don’t-break defense.

If he is accurate in his assessment, then Price's ability to bounce outside and hit for big gains might be just what ND needs.

While his talent is unquestionable, the belief is he needs to get a year under his belt of learning to properly run routes & understand the offense.

Yeah, wasn't the read on Williams coming out of high school that he has all the physical talent in the world, but would need a year to get a grasp on the offense?

Could be completely mis-remembering things, but if so, a redshirt year makes sense.

Honestly I think 2017 Miami was a more embarrassing loss, if less high profile.
Miami was absolutely embarrassing. That 2012 loss hurt deep in the feels, but there is nothing embarrassing about losing or even get blown out by the super teams. It’s happened to someone every year there’s been one.
