I'm looking to subscribe to a site here shortly and I could use as much input as possible. I was once subscribed to Irish Illustrated and I thought they did a decent job. To the ISD subscribers, do you guys like the writers, the forums, and the VIP intel they put out? Is the price right? Those same questions go for Irish247 subscribers as well. Thanks!

I like 247 because i can check out other teams. I am not sure how that works with other sites. I have only ever paid for 247 so i don't have anything to compare it too, but i like it.

If you want to subscribe to a site then 247 is the best for recruiting, Scout (Pete Sampson and Tim Prister) are best for team news and articles and Rivals is best for chatter amongst its members (very active message board). I subscribe to all 3 as it gives all I want.

I used to subscribe to Mike Frank but find him to be very whiney. It has not been easy to be an ND fan since 1997 but his take gets old. That he has Bob Chmiel on his podcasts now just shows how out of touch he is. I also don't feel that Mike Frank is as connected to the program as he used to be.

Yeah, I'm reading the free football forum on ISD and their writers are very active as well as Crusader and Koon :). I'm looking for a good mixture of actual Notre Dame football and Notre Dame recruiting. Also, releasing some semi frequent basketball news wouldn't be bad either.

Odd because I feel as though the ISD gang is pretty entrenched in the program. Mike Frank isn't the only guy over there. His young writers are pretty good and are putting in a great effort to be involved with their community as arrow mentioned.

I only know this because ISD is the only one of the sites that I frequent, but I know they just recently have done interviews with players, Brey, and recruits.

Christian and Matt are better connected than any reporters at any other site. And I'm not shitting in other reporters at other sites who are very good and a handful of them are people I know (or have at least talked to). Matt Freeman in particular has connections to some players and certain coaches that other guys don't have... Mike Frank isn't the guy in the trenches.

I'd recommend checking out ISD's free board and asking questions to the staff there... if you like that interaction then you can sub to the site with confidence.

For those that want to dip their toe in the water at ISD, they also have a free board you can post on and ask the staff questions about the team/recruiting/etc.

Huge fan of ISD. The staff is as solid now as it's been since I joined 10 years ago. Take a look guys, it's worth it.
