I pray the guy gets the help he needs...

Sure, but I hope he completely incinerates his career first to the point of not ever having a chance to redeem it. Nobody has ever deserved to spend the rest of his life living under a bridge as much as that guy.

Doesn't mean he's still not an asshat though. Guy still thinks he's still in college. Pretty sad to see those who are given a shot in the NFL piss it away like this.

The problem with that is that even if he does completely suck and is out of the league in a year or two, his family's still loaded and TAMU will still idolize him. He'll still have a privileged life regardless.

He might be an idiot because he has substance abuse issues. I hope he gets his life together and becomes a more productive person.

I don't have a problem with someone living a privileged life, as long as they don't flaunt it or use it as an excuse to put yourself above everyone else.

Yeah, I'm not sure this kid will ever "get it." He was given an opportunity that few get to play in the NFL, and he approached it in the most boneheaded way possible. He was just as stupid in college, although he had the benefit there of having A&M shield him and protect him. I don't think he's ever going to amount to anything in the league, and the fact that his parents are well off means he'll coast through life once the NFL doesn't work out.

This, the part about his parents still grinds me... This kid wants for nothing, but he had the nerve to risk his entire teams season by selling autographs for money he didn't even need, THEN had the nerve to act like some big victim in all of it... I just don't know.

I asked this right after the draft last year,... I'll ask again, 'who do you think the browns draft at QB this year??? Hell maybe they shop their two first rounders to tampa and Tennessee and see if either bite....

Maybe, maybe not. I suspect his dad was living vicareously through him. If he ends up out of the league, he'll probably go through his money pretty quickly then need dad to help him out. At that point I can see his dad finally getting tired of him and telling him to go get a job.

With the massive amount of failure around drafting of QB's, when do they try their hand in the free agent market or try trading for a proven guy?

If the same guys who have whiffed on evaluating draft talent are going to be in charge of finding a quality starter who is available out there.......... would it really make a difference?

No, that's what I mean. Take the guess work out of it. Get a proven talent through a trade or pay big bucks once a proven guy became available as a free agent.

I guess they kind of did that with Jason Campbell recently, although "proven" isn't exactly what I would call him. He had a few good seasons, but at least his head was on straight. They've brought in a few QBs over the years that had previous stops, but you're right, they really haven't brought anyone in through free agency that made me think "This is the guy that will lead the Browns."

It's hard to find a quality free agent QB to come to a team like Cleveland, no matter how much cap room you might have. And teams generally don't like to give up quality backups. It happens, but it's just not that easy.

Hope he gets the help he needs and gets his life together. If he's serious about succeeding, I think he should hire Kurt Warner to help him, like Colin Kaepernick is doing.

I would love for the Browns to trade up and take Winston. If the Bucs draft Winston I am officially no longer a Buc fan.

I have been a Browns fan for 42 years and I really don't know how much more of this I can take. I am truly starting to believe they are cursed. No matter who they hire in the front office or to coach it is a complete mess over and over again.

Rumors going about that he is being shopped to the Eagles. Deal goes something like Manziel and picks to the Eagles and Bradford to the Browns.
