Did you read any of the tweets? They’re supposedly jokes but man, they’re awful. He might be a legit pedophile.

They were bad, but they are old as fuck. He had long since tweeted and apologized for them before Disney hired him. So either they knew and didn't care, or they didn't vet him at all. It's obviously the former.

This is mostly correct.

The only thing that's still up in the air is the Fantastic 4. F4 is actually only partially owned by Fox. Fox owns the distribution rights while a German company called Constantin Film owns the production rights. Fox has basically just paid Constantin every time they want to use the IP since obviously a little German film company doesn't have the capabilities or funds to produce a modern comic book movie.

I don't see any reason why that arrangement wouldn't just stay the same with the distribution rights moving from Fox to Disney, but who knows. Disney has shown a willingness to work with other companies like their partnership with Sony on the Spider-Man usage. On the other hand though they had a very contentious relationship with Fox up until this point.

My guess would be that Constantin Film would play ball seeing the huge pile of money sitting in front of them, but like I said who knows.

It still has to get the government stamp of approval which supposedly could take a year or more. Exciting times though for sure.
The DOJ has already approved it. The only condition is that Disney has to sell Fox's regional sports networks.

Yeah that definitely didn't "break the internet" like Brie Larson said. I don't care about set photos or marketing photo shoots. I just want to see the trailer.

Captain Marvel trailer #2. Much more interesting than the first.

Avengers 4 trailer supposedly drops tomorrow, plus the Spider-Man: Far from Home trailer not too far after.

I have conflicting feelings about this. On one hand I wanted to see more from the trailer, but in another I think not showing very much was a smart move by Marvel. All this does is just ramp up my anticipation for this movie.

I do think they should have put Capt Marvel in the trailer though.

FYI, skip Aquaman. DC couldn't make a movie out of their characters if their lives depended on it. It's as shitty as Suicide Squad, BvS and Justice League and for the same reasons.

Since there is so little in the trailer, I have read and seen various discussions about it and a lot of people analyzing it keep bringing up that Marvel has lied in some of their recent trailers

I Loved Aquaman... Might be my favorite DC movie since The Dark Knight Returns..

I find it extremely unlikely that the X-Men in the MCU would be the Fox X-Men.

They have to re-cast. Fox messed up the X-Men timeline so bad. It’s a shame that we can’t pick and choose which actors from those movies to use. Fassbender is great as Magneto. Other than him and Hugh Jackman I’m not sure I’d keep any of them I I could. Maybe the girl that played Storm in Apocalypse because Halle Berry was f’n terrible in that role.

Hugh Jackman is a dope Wolverine but he's also 50. I expect the MCU X-Men will be in their 20s and 30s.

Aquaman was super cheesy. Every line was The Most Important Line in the film. Amber Heard played a flute on a fishing boat at one point.

But I enjoyed the movie overall. It’s long, but didn’t feel like a slog, and I didn’t find myself asking “when do we get to the resolution?” at any point. It was different, and did a decent job of threading plot from what could have been three different movies, probably.

I liked the mythology; it was charming in how they didn’t try to darken the story. They kind of just embraced the inherent goofiness of Aquaman and his powers.

Amber Heard is nice with Ariel’s hair, too.

My only complaint was that Black Manta looked like a bad guy straight from Power Rangers, but I assume they borrowed heavily from the comics for his gear.

Would watch again.

Yes his suit was taken directly from the comics, which looked fantastic IMO.

It looks so much better on the page.

It wasn’t bad in the movie... it was just strange to see that helmet and the giant frog eyes in the broad daylight. Hardcore flashbacks to some Power Ranger baddies.

Another reason why I liked Aquaman, tho... it wasn’t literally dark in terms of the lighting, except when it needed to be. The underwater scenes had a very “Tron: Legacy” feel with the neon colors and the music, and that was cool.

Took my kids to see Into the Spiderverse today. It was a great movie. Not just a great comic book movie or great animated movie, but just great altogether.

I thought that was the fun of it. It looked crazy, because it is!

IMO, comic book movies try way too hard to appeal directly to stunted growth adults , instead of making a movie for kids that adults can enjoy too.

I'm all for the occasional Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman, or even Deadpool that is for adults.

But Aquaman falls into the category with Spiderman, Superman, Captain America, and many others that should be, first and foremost, for 10 year olds.
