They won't fire him now. They're gonna continue to make the game plan a more collaborative effort (i.e., with more input from the other offensive coaches, as they have been doing since UL) but Parker will be in the booth calling specific plays for the next 3 games (incl bowl games).

So, against the best defenses Parker and the offense had to go against, they produced: 14, 21, 23, 23.

I know he probably won’t be retained, but that’s the only stat I need to see.
Keep in mind some of those scores were short fields too because of Watts interceptions or special teams wins. Parker produced only 5 TDs from OSU-Duke-Louisville. For all the points we scored against USC's awful defense, whose DC just got fired, only 2 scores came on drives that began on our side of the field.

So what have you read?
Marcus wants to control an Offense with Run first. into an 11 man front regardless of the receiver inadequacies..

If you read this thread alone, you can pick up alot.. But, anyway.

Marcus needs an offensive mind just like any good defensive HC does.
Marcus Is learning the hard way... When controlling everything is never the right answer,... It's the answer of an inexperienced Head coach, looking to learn on the fly

I think I owe Rees an apology... he's apparently a lot better at the developing/play calling stuff then I thought. Maybe still sucked at recruiting, but his loss as both an OC and QB coach is pretty evident right now.
He was a pretty good QB too. Without him, we wouldn't have had an undefeated regular season on our resume... since 1988.
2012 happened b/c Tommy could win.

Bk can Kick rocks, but he knew Tommy was special.

Rees got the same production out of Pyne that GP is getting out of an 11 year starter 🤦🏻‍♂️
I don't believe It's Parkers fault. 50/50 run to pass with Hartman as our QB, Is devastating.

If you watch closely, Esteme asks to come out after 2 consecutive plays regularly. Not sure why, but conditioning has to be a factor

and Hartman not changing plays at tlos Is below average X2

Estime would carry the ball 60 times a game if they let him.

He does seem to run out of gas pretty quick though. At least I hope that's what happened during the first drive against Clemson. Dude was killing them and then boom....standing on the sideline.
I think it's planned rest. Seems the staff plots when players are scheduled to take a break. Personally, I would play it by feel. If AE is rolling keep him in until he shows signs of gassing. Same with the other backs. If they get hot, ride them until the need that break instead of giving them a set number of plays or series. You have to be situational. If a team gets in the RZ, your best on D should be on the field.

Looked to me like he took himself out in that first half. He was the workhorse and probably needed a quick breather. For some reason that breather wasn't guick...

I agree ND has such good RBs I get having the luxury of swapping them in and out...but AE was out there jumping over people. Feed the hot hand. Kid is a monster and fun to watch!

The issue of the first drive wasn't him not in after getting 3 straight carries to start the game. The issue was an actually good play call and design on second down where Staes had no clue what he was doing, but if staes made the simple block he needed to Tyree gets at least 5 setting up 3rd and short, or a better throw and staes block and it could have been a huge game. This was one of the real good play calls parker had but terrible execution from Hartman and Staes.

The other issue is you run it on 3rd and 10 with pyne playing for a FG. 43 vs 48 yards made absolutely no difference in that kick. My issue here is not the play call actually as much as personnel. Payne should not be in, he's not bad but he's not estime, price, love. That run on 3rd and 10 was blocked so well that 6 yds was the absolute minimum you could get on it. Payne had 1 on 1 with a DB 5 yds past LOS and just lowered his head and tried to run through him, gaining one additional yard. There's room to make a move and go right or left. I gotta believe any of our 3 top running backs more likely than not get a first down there. It was blocked so well.

In the end, not only is parker a bad play caller but he's part of making poor game planning personnel and coaching decisions. The 2nd down play was clearly not prepared properly throughout the week (probably scripted) and the personnel on 3rd and long is just dumb having payne out there. He's an above average running back with elite all around him.

The problem I have with this isn't even a Parker. Freeman always says we are going to be aggressive and go for it and blah blah blah. If that's the case than go for it. And explain to your running back not to put his head and bull rush like you are on the 2 yard line. This is a Freeman call.

Parker on the road recruiting says all I need to know.
Ye of little faith ...

One would assume that Parker is merely fulfilling his contractual obligations. Surely he is gone at the conclusion of the regular season, and not merely being reassigned/demoted, right? Would he even stick around if demoted?
