So we are all on the same page that we hope Parker balls out, gets hired as a HC this year, so we can all pretend like every single one of us was against this hire and moaning doom and gloom right?

The OL looked much much better this year coming out of the gate as opposed to last year, looking forward to seeing them perform against a more traditional defense (i.e. NC State) as well.
They definitely had it together. They were coordinated, got great push, and no false starts.

Not exactly an easy defense to make your debut against with their number of blitzes but the team nailed it. OL looked good. Parker looked good.

I have a feeling that a lot of that can be thanks to Hartman looking real good though. Amazing what a smart, talented QB can do for you.

I was immediately impressed on the 3rd n long 4 wide run to Estime on the first drive.. He simply took what they gave him & didn't have to open every page of the book. It helps when you have a legit QB and everyone executes cleanly.

I just genuinely enjoyed not seeing Rees in the booth with that smug, I'm better than this and it's the player's fault, look on his face.

Agree with Ulukinatme - he played a near perfect game with a near perfect hand. We'll know who Porker is soon.

This play was a really interesting one to me and I think was telling how Parker and Irish plan to attack teams. It is the classic great call when it works, but everyone would question if it didn't. This team is gonna be run first even with someone as accomplished as Hartman under center. With that said someone like Hartman likely put the defense in that call in the first place. Navy would have almost certainly blitzed Pyne or Buchner in that situation.

Overall, I thought Parker had a great game and proved more than capable. But, to be fair, he has held/shared the OC title before, so I'm not sure if the "capable" concern was ever warranted on my part.

He called a very good game today. We’ll see Geraldo can do it against a team with a pulse.

I’m so happy Rees isn’t here anymore.

They did blitz on that play, they brought out side pressure from both sides and we ran inside zone against it. They know exactly what they were doing and had an answer.

Let not forget that the defense basically went in blind with a new offense that they have never seen. Made quick adjustments and held that team to 3 points. This is a great coaching staff.

North and south running game!

No more metro sexual east/west slow read shit that gets blown up against a team waiting for it.

There are people who can't wait to visit this thread with reasons to be frustrated and they're likely going to be able to do so at some point because it's a long season.

I thought the game was called very well and it was executed practically perfectly.

For me
Tommy never called a good game last season.
He called some good drives, but never for the whole game.

Parker called a damn near perfect game.

Screen passes behind blitzes, draw plays away from the blitz, and using the run to set up PA.

As long as he's not trying to prove to everyone what an offensive genius he is I'll be happy.

What I’m most looking forward to is how we progress from the first game to the fifth and so on. Hard to imagine there’s too much that needs to be addressed but I personally didn’t see every mistake. If you’re going to be a championship caliber team I believe you have to constantly strive to be better. Here’s hoping the next few weeks are as equally satisfying. Kinda strange not having a lot of frustration, not sure what to do now.😂

What was the Clemson game?

This is gonna sound a little ass-backwards but the best thing about yesterday’s game plan was that it was very vanilla. There was virtually nothing exotic, it reminded me a lot of watching an October NFL game.

All they did was call normal stuff and execute it well. This is also basically what Georgia has done for years, and it works as long as you have a talent edge or are efficient.

I wonder how much of that is here to stay, and how much of it is just because it is Navy

You shouldn’t need to call anything exotic against an inferior opponent. Next week should be more of the same. They have 3 more games to practice reps live before OSU. I hope he continues to call basic stuff.

100% agree. Parker called the game he needed to call. This was a warm up for future teams and a way to build confidence in the new system.

The next few games will be about adding a little each time...prep for the big game.

This is exactly what I said on the first drive. "What would Georgia do if they were playing Navy right now?"

Here's what: simply keep leaning on Navy and let the talent advantage play out. That's exactly how Parker played it.

Will it win him any Broyles awards? Probably not. But his calls were perfectly suited for an overmatched opponent, and we didn't need to get cute. Good first effort for him.
