I'll be ready to buy in when someone we play doesn't let us get 7 yds a carry and seeing how he responds to that
Look forward to hearing your thoughts in 2024I'll be ready to buy in when someone we play doesn't let us get 7 yds a carry and seeing how he responds to that
Who dafaq says anyone will hold us to under 7 yards per carry???I'll be ready to buy in when someone we play doesn't let us get 7 yds a carry and seeing how he responds to that
They definitely had it together. They were coordinated, got great push, and no false starts. The OL looked much much better this year coming out of the gate as opposed to last year, looking forward to seeing them perform against a more traditional defense (i.e. NC State) as well.
6 yds per carry, but who’s counting!I'll be ready to buy in when someone we play doesn't let us get 7 yds a carry and seeing how he responds to that
This, he has to do great this year, as next year will really show us how good he is. Many posters on here could do good with our offensive team this yearParker was delt a full hand, and he played the cards very well today.
This play was a really interesting one to me and I think was telling how Parker and Irish plan to attack teams. It is the classic great call when it works, but everyone would question if it didn't. This team is gonna be run first even with someone as accomplished as Hartman under center. With that said someone like Hartman likely put the defense in that call in the first place. Navy would have almost certainly blitzed Pyne or Buchner in that situation.I was immediately impressed on the 3rd n long 4 wide run to Estime on the first drive.. He simply took what they gave him & didn't have to open every page of the book. It helps when you have a legit QB and everyone executes cleanly.

Overall, I thought Parker had a great game and proved more than capable. But, to be fair, he has held/shared the OC title before, so I'm not sure if the "capable" concern was ever warranted on my part.
Ding Ding DingThere are people who can't wait to visit this thread with reasons to be frustrated and they're likely going to be able to do so at some point because it's a long season.
I thought the game was called very well and it was executed practically perfectly.

For me
Tommy never called a good game last season.
He called some good drives, but never for the whole game.
Parker called a damn near perfect game.
Screen passes behind blitzes, draw plays away from the blitz, and using the run to set up PA.
As long as he's not trying to prove to everyone what an offensive genius he is I'll be happy.

I wonder how much of that is here to stay, and how much of it is just because it is NavyThis is gonna sound a little ass-backwards but the best thing about yesterday’s game plan was that it was very vanilla. There was virtually nothing exotic, it reminded me a lot of watching an October NFL game.
All they did was call normal stuff and execute it well. This is also basically what Georgia has done for years, and it works as long as you have a talent edge or are efficient.
You shouldn’t need to call anything exotic against an inferior opponent. Next week should be more of the same. They have 3 more games to practice reps live before OSU. I hope he continues to call basic stuff. This is gonna sound a little ass-backwards but the best thing about yesterday’s game plan was that it was very vanilla. 100% agree. Parker called the game he needed to call. This was a warm up for future teams and a way to build confidence in the new system. There are people who can't wait to visit this thread with reasons to be frustrated and they're likely going to be able to do so at some point because it's a long season.
