Kmoose is headed into work so I took the liberty of starting the post game thread.

What a win! Gotta come away from that feeling pretty good.

PROS:

-Kizer looked solid.

-CJ was phenomenal

-The defense was HUGE

CONS:

-Oline left a bit to be desired

-Feel awful Drue went down.

Overall, pretty good day for ND heading into UMass week. The garbage touchdown is kind of annoying. 30-7 looks a lot better than 30-22.

Go Irish!

EDIT: I guess with :45 seconds left, making this was premature. GTech recovers an onside

It's annoying to play such a good defensive game all day and then give up that garbage at the end. A win is a win though! This game should definitely help build some confidence.

In all seriousness, we should be #1. The only team with three power five wins. Ohio State barely scrapes by Northern Illinois.

That last minute was terrible, but great game overall. Shouldn't take away from the performance one bit.

I'll take the win!! Overall a HUGE defensive success!! I was really worried about this one. CJ had a monster game and Kiser played very well for his first start.

ND was leading USC 24-0 with less than an minute in the first half. Anthony Davis returned the ND K.O. for a TD just before the half expired.

In the second half Davis ran wild and the Trojans scored 49 points.

55 unanswered points after a 24 point ND lead.

Defense deserves a TON of credit. Especially on 3rd downs. Oline needs to get a little more focus. Those stupid penalties are going to cost us bad one of these days.

Tried reping you but I gotta spread it, I mean that was obviously a horrible game but you really look at it its only blowing a 17 point half time lead. Easily one of the worst games in ND history, however especially in today's media you never would have heard the end of it if we blew a 23 point lead with a minute to go.

I'm no trying to derail the thread a win is a win, today was great. The scoreboard doesn't mean shit we dominated today.

Yup, the defense was outstanding today. Sucks about the 2 late TDs and Drue getting hurt but a wins a win and it was nice seeing all the people who picked GT eat some crow.

Kizer looked poised and comfortable leading the offense. Next week should be a fun game for him.

Can't wait for Clemson in 2 weeks and then USC which I'll be at.

Great win. ND answered a lot of critics today, including one in me. I didn't give us much of a chance.

- Kizer played like a talented kid making his first start. He's got a nice arm and for the most part, didn't panic in the pocket. He did make too many careless passes however and has an awful habit of staring down and forcing it to whoever his #1 option is. He'll get better at this as time goes on, but him locking into one receiver and forcing it is going to cost us some turnovers this season.

- Prosise is a monster. Fuller is a gazelle.

- O-line did a good job protecting Kizer.

- Jaylon Smith is going to be an All-Pro NFL LB. Probably the best ND player I have ever watched (I'm 27).

- The defensive line played very well, particularly Day. They played disciplined, containment defense and for the most part, tackled very well today. They certainly answered the bell.

- Yoon makes me nervous.

- Not a fan of the final score not reflecting how thoroughly ND dominated this game, but I'm glad we won. I really did not expect us to win this game. I can't wait to hear the talking heads now say "GT's offense is so overrated!"

- Really hate to see Tranquil go down, as he had a monster 1st half. I'm guessing he tore a ligament and is out for the year. Really hate to see that...

We were going out to dinner with another couple. We had drinks at our house first and during the pregame he bet the cost of dinner on the Trojans to win. As we pulled into the restaurant parking lot, Davis ran back the K.O. My friend said, "Too little, too late. There's no way they overcome that big a lead the way they've played in the first half ... I conceded the bet. Dinner's on me."

I appreciated the offer but though we should wait. He was insistence. He told the waitress when we sat down that dinner was him for a bad bet.

During dessert, the waitress told us the final score. I again offered to pay but he was firm. "I threw in the towel".

A little silver lining on a terrible night.

I'll elaborate a little more later but WOW, what a great team Win. I really loved the ownership the defense took over this game. The offense was shaky at times and they just got stop after stop, very reminiscent of 2012 when they knew and wanted to be the backbone of the team. Exceptional win.
