Agreed, if football doesn't work out, they have that ND degree. Awesome to see the support Freeman and other coaches show their sport.I love seeing this. So awesome.
Totally agree. One of so many reasons why Freeman is a great coach and a great recruiter. He genuinely cares about these kids and loves Notre Dame. Recruits and players sense this which makes them want to play for him and play very hard. Season opener cannot get here quick enough. Go Irish!Agreed, if football doesn't work out, they have that ND degree. Awesome to see the support Freeman and other coaches show their sport.
They're cheating douchebags, who cares. But definitely would welcome back the annual Sparty rivalry.I am arguing for ending the ACC agreement and for ND to actually be independent. ND chose to end the Michigan and Michigan State annual games for no legitimate reason.
100%They're cheating douchebags, who cares. But definitely would welcome back the annual Sparty rivalry.

Yeah you’re wrong about this. The Big 10 TV deal pays each school more than NBC pays us. But it’s close and we really shouldn’t join that league just to add a few bucks. The TV money is not superior. ND doesn’t have to share their take.
It's good to have rivals, and to play them frequently. USC is our rival, and CFB would be much diminished if that series was discontinued.I’m not sure what the deal is with Michigan State. I realize they are a rival (or used to be) but to me they’re just another opponent. Michigan, however, is hated and inspires all kinds of feelings when we play them, from anxiety to anger when we don’t play well, to euphoria when we do. I’d much rather beat Michigan than play MSU.

Michigan is an enemy. It is stupid to take actions that benefit one's enemies. Michigan benefits more from playing us than we benefit from playing them, so I hope we never schedule them again.

Riley is a wuss. Just really unfortunate to lose this game.“USC has offered a one-year extension to play in Los Angeles in 2026, sources tell SI, while Notre Dame desires another long-term deal.
USC has broached the idea of moving the game to a season-opening spot on the schedule“
Yeah this thing is cooked, and it’s incredibly clear as to who is ending it
After a break early in the 20th century, the series picked back up in '48. Given the proximity of the schools adds to the draw. More so, typically at least one and many times both teams were ranked when they played. 1966 Game of the Century is still considered one of the greatest CFB ever given the talent on both teams.I’m not sure what the deal is with Michigan State. I realize they are a rival (or used to be) but to me they’re just another opponent. I agree with you. Outside of the Duffy Daugherty era ('65 and '66 in particular), MSU has been a big box of nothing for years. I don't understand how they became our "rival". I consider Purdue a bigger "rival" than MSU, and PU has had some pretty competitive teams over the years (even though they currently suck). And at least the Boilers are in state.I’m not sure what the deal is with Michigan State. I realize they are a rival (or used to be) but to me they’re just another opponent. This sucks... on the other hand I kinda forced myself to hate them as a rival.
I hate michigan more, and wish we played them more.
also, Fuck Michigan
UT, sure. The rest of them who gives a shit. They're no different than the interchangeable ACC teams we already play too many of.Hate to loose a rivalry game but I think it would be way more beneficial to play an annual game in Texas then Cali. If it gets cancelled we should rotate a home/away with UT, ATM, Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech
Would love an annual or semi annual game in Texas. A rising SMU wouldn't be a bad choice either to bring Irish into Dallas recruiting. There's so much more history (on the actual gridiron) between MSU and ND. They've played 77 times dating back to 1897. scUM and ND? 43 games since 1887, 95% of which is scUM's fault. From getting salty because they lost to us, to being anti-Catholic bigots, to blocking ND from joining the conference even though now they cry that we aren't in a conference...I personally just hate everything about that fucking football program I want nothing to do with them outside of rooting for whoever they are playing against.I’m not sure what the deal is with Michigan State. UT would be fun, the rest of these, meh, compared to our most historic rival in USC.Would love an annual or semi annual game in Texas. A rising SMU wouldn't be a bad choice either to bring Irish into Dallas recruiting. Better than Baylor or TTU.
As others have said, with the conference schedules ND will see less opportunity to schedule big power schools. Might have to settle for a rotation of 2 classic powerhouse teams a season + 7 ACC and throw in Navy , a BIG, and a "surprise" team.UT would be fun, the rest of these, meh, compared to our most historic rival in USC.
