Scoring offense shouldn’t include defensive touchdowns but I think it does. Same goes for special teams. Offensive stats should be purely offense

Random thought - with the exceptions of Texas A&M beating McNeese St, Miami of Ohio beating a 2 win UMASS in OT, and FSU beating Charleston Southern, every team ND has played this year has lost their next game. Yes, even NIU…

Does this mean anything? I really don’t know, but seems to my this years squad really beats up on teams, with the run game and punishing defense, and takes quite a bit out of them. Seems to maybe more than a coincidence.
Army beat UTSA.

Pretty sure Texas would be ahead of ND if they lost the SEC championship game
We're 2 spots behind Texas right now. I think with a loss to Georgia they fall at least 2 spots. I would expect Georgia jumps us in that scenario, but regardless we should still be ranked Top 4 I think, and since we can't get a BYE I'm thinking we should be seeded #5 regardless once the conference championship games are all finished.

"should" and "will" may wind up different here.

Anyone have experience taking an Uber to the stadium on Gameday? Trying to figure out plans

The committee has been trying to warn fans for weeks that the losers of conference championship games won't be punished much (if at all). I think it's even debatable whether Penn State will stay ahead of us even if they lose to Oregon

If that kind of BS happens, we really need to think about joining the B1G

I think they mean they won’t be dropped out of the bracket with a conference championship game loss if they were already in going into the weekend.
The losing team will definitely drop in the seeding.

Yes. Depending on your tailgating plans you should have no problem getting to the edge of campus by uber. Traffic will become challenging the closer you get to game time

This would make the most sense (and is a good argument to avoid joining a conference lol). No matter what happens, we're probably destined to play an SEC team in the first round

Yeah, makes no sense if the losing team doesn't at least drop in the seeding. If they don't drop Penn State below us should they lose, we might as well join a conference at that point because there would be no advantage to skipping a CCG. We'd be missing out on not only getting a BYE, but also having the best possible playoff seeding going forward.

Narrator: They did not drop Penn State below us.

Despite all of the flaws that get pointed out regularly..........

In all honesty the schedule did play in here. It was the lightest in a LONG time but it’s not like it was the worst schedule in the nation or even the playoff. We will all know how much it really added to this soon,…

Yeah, and oddly enough the 5 spot doesn't even look like the best path. Looks like Penn State has the best path at #6.

That said, IrishLion pointed this out in our group text, but it looks like the committee may have rearranged some teams from 5-12 to make the matchups better. That may have been why things shook out the way they did.
