Based on what I’ve read about the Grad Asst rules….. none of this makes sense. There is a 7 year window from the later of either graduating or exhausting eligibility.

It’s assumed that he graduated in 2014 which would mean that he’s now past the 7 year window.
The only thing that makes sense is that he didn’t actually graduate at that time. He was suspended for the Rose Bowl for violation of team rules. Lots of rumors at the time what it was, but it’s possible that whatever happened didn’t allow him to graduate.

Not entirely thrilled about the PED’s suspension in the NFL either.
There was a change in the rules so the 7 year clock doesn't include time spent in the pros. He was in the league through 2016, so he is still in the 7 year window.

The part that I was confused by was the years being a GA. I thought the limit was overall, like the 4 seasons of eligibility for players, not that it reset at each school as long as they were inside the 7 years limit.

There was some shit at MSU too where he kept spouting pro MAGA stuff and it upset all the team chemistry they had as it upset his black teammates. He also arrested after a bar fight in Colorado during college

I think the MAGA stuff was his brother Riley.

When he was in college in like 2013? So he was MAGA before MAGA was even a thing? Awesome.

Edit: It looks like he was a two-time captain at Michigan State? That's kinda hard to envision if his teammates had problems with him on racial stuff.

So wrong and griping about politics. You my friend are a slap dick and deserve a one way ticket to the Y.

On Sampson's mailbag today, he said ND is working on the "ticketing issue" that leads to opponent's fans taking over the stadium.

Don't get your hopes up. The "ticketing issue" is that there's a secondary market and ND has gone into business with said market. They've tried dynamic pricing. They've tried to tie marquee games to less desirable ones. Are they going to go back to the days where reselling tickets can get your ability to purchase in the future revoked? Not likely. Maybe they try to push public on sale back to limit the attractiveness of a road trip, but that's a double edged sword.

The only real solution is to have a better team that ND fans want to go see more often. Low demand in the ND fanbase means more tickets for opposing teams.

Is this the same ticketing issue that prevented Ronnie Stanley from being a captain?

Something that affects ND is that many season ticket holders live out of state, and aren't able to attend all games. A friend and I have 6 season tix. Lucky if we make three games, usually the sanme ones. There are always 2-3 games that we aren't attending and unless someone we know expresses interest, the tix are put up on open market. Not unusual if we "eat" some tix. ND tix are not cheap, and many of the lesser games are sold for next to nothing on gameday. Season tickets also come with the "privilege" fee on top of the ticket price. And I have friends in SB that won't even take free tix. Opponenets are mainly big state schools, with fanbases that are larger and more congregated than ND. And since it is a "bucket list" destinantion, opposing fans travel to see a game at ND, especially since tix are available.

Yep. And the “real solution” is to be a large state school and have most of your alumni/fan base within easy one-day driving distance. Despite having neither of those advantages, we still outdraw most of those schools that do.

I'll believe it when I see it. Overcharging for marquee games is the will of the market. By selling tickets to one of those games season ticket holders can recoup costs for donations and season tickets a bit and the highest bidder will often be an Away team that hasn't been to South Bend in awhile.

I don't mean for this to sound snarky at all and am genuinely curious: why get season tickets if half of the games are going to waste, especially considering they have the mini-game packages now? Those usually come in three games. Seems like you'd save yourself a lot of money considering the donation that's required to qualify for szn tix.

Cuz I love our 4 on the 50 Row 35. Worth it for early season (home opener), OSU, and USC. Unless you think I sell those 3 games and pay for season plus Christmas?
If you want good tix for games that are available, feel free to contact.

Makes sense if you get to hold on to the same tickets every year, those are great seats.

I might just have to do that, I'll keep it in mind!

By all means buddy. Sweet seats, and much rather have ND faithful sitting there.

Holler at me before season and we'll see if we can do something.

My expectation is that ND wins all their "other" games plus 1 of those 3. For 10 wins. I think 11 wins is a overachieving and 9 wins is under. Also, I don't see anyway that OSU is the #3 team in the country to start next season. Breaking in a new QB on the road. That should be an opportunity to steal one for Notre Dame.
