Idk, I think Kraemer is the best olineman prospect we've had in a long time. I think he should at the very least get a serious look at first team. I agree that I don't want to just throw him into the wolves, but I think there's a shot he could do it.

If he was head and shoulders above the upperclassmen, I would say yeah, maybe give him a look at first team. I'm guessing that won't be the case though. We've got several talented upperclassmen that have been training with Harry for years now. They've also had the benefit of years in a college strength and conditioning program. There's other factors to consider too, like the added stress/commitment of being a freshman trying to keep your head above the academic workload all while practicing to be a starter. It's a big adjustment from being a high school senior to being a freshman at college, and I'm not just talking on the field. Unless there are injuries, I don't see a need for Kraemer to play this year.

How was Sam Young as a true freshman? Impressive that he started, but I do not remember if he was good/not good, disregarding age.

McGlinchey deserves LT if he's the #1 tackle as we assume. If RT and LT were in the same demand in the NFL who would care? But they are not so I hope McG is put in a position to shine. In a selfish sorta way, I hope Bars beats him out for LT so McG can watch MZ's blindside as he's done since the two stepped on campus.

No one is beating Mike out, where ever he plays. He was our highest grade offensive lineman by a significant amount last year. And he is quicker than a hiccup at making adjustments to keep fast edge rushers from using speed to get around him.

Any way you slice it, I think Mike is our next first round left tackle. Not to slight Alex Bars, he may be our fourth!

He struggled. I wouldn't say he was flat out awful, but he wasn't ready by any means. He was probably the best we had at the time, but it was a lot to ask him to start so soon. Sam definitely started out of necessity.

He also had Fatina as his coach, double whammy.

More than anything, Sam was forced into action as a result of poor recruiting by Ty. It caught up to us in 2006. 2003-2005 were awful years for OL depth. We took a total of just 6 guys in those 3 years, with John Sullivan being the only 4 star prospect and some guys may have transferred. I don't know if people remember, but our OL was struggling so much that our RBs were having to make their first cut in our backfield at times.

He never seemed to take that leap forward each year afterwards. He was always ok, but never dominated like people assumed he would.

He didn't live up to the billing of #1 Tackle at least, which is where I think Rivals had him in the 2006 class.

He was the number 1 prospect in FL ahead of Tebow if I remember correctly.

Tebow went on to win the heisman. Sam went on to whiff a block on a crucial down and seal the victory for Navy. :(

Is that when that guy named Ram went airborn like he was in a football movie and got the sack?

I think this was the 2nd (yeesh) time we lost to Navy. He was a junior and it was a fourth down play that Clausen either got sacked on or got rushed because Young whiffed on his block. I remember thinking that it was a pretty good summation of Notre Dame at that time. No. 1 tackle in the country getting beat handily by a 5'8" guy who plays football part-time on the most important play of the game.

Saw all the combine bumps... When was the last time we had 10 guys at the combine? Seems like a long long time

How many of the 10 are projected draft picks?

Jaylon, Ronnie, Will, Day, Martin... Russell up there still? Chris making ground?

Ronnie, Jaylon, Will, Day, Martin, CJ, Kei for sure will be drafted.

Elijah, Romeo, and Chris are on the fence. I think if they have a really good combine they could go in the later rounds. Chris had a really good East-West game/practice too.

I'm willing to bet a lot of vbucks that all 10 guys will be drafted barring an injury or terrible combine.

I think they figured since IE pretty much went over every possible scenario there was no reason to release a statement.

From what I heard, Elmer is going to PM his resignation letter to Panda. Panda will take from there.
