For the record, Prister said he has a prominent player in mind but he also provided an out. He told O'Malley if that player ends up transferring he will reveal that's who he was talking about and if he doesn't he'll also reveal that's who he thought was going to transfer but didn't. So it sounds like Prister doesn't know anything for sure. He likely has some inside info but nothing concrete.
Sound like just trying to get clicks. Everyone knows there will be more transfers out and some will be disappointing.

O’Malley said he could think of eleven names off the top of his head. I don’t like when they do this. It’s total conjecture. They did say the nd staff has to deal with a bunch of tampering by other staffs. I think we are probably guilty of this as well

We all speculate on bottom of roster guys transferring out every year. It happens.

“Getting clicks” means all attempts to move media content now. Catch up.
It is like “blessed are the cheese makers” referring to makers of all diary products.

Rubio is the one who’s been away from the program. But Sampson sounded very optimistic he would return, in a recent mailbag I think it was.
Why would Cross leave? If he wanted to get paid more he would have left in December.
“or whoever the interior DL is that’s been away from the program.” I didn’t imply Cross would leave. I wasn’t sure which of the two has been out.

I would doubt it is Colzie: This old guy brings a new perspective to a deep Notre Dame football wide receivers room

If Colzie can contribute this year he will, plus he is close to getting his degree.

Of all the names I've seen I think it would be Spindler.
I suspect helps us with a lot of potential outbound transfers. By the time guys have been here long enough that they're feeling passed up on the depth chart, they're two or three years in and close enough to their degree that it's often worth sticking another season. Especially if the culture of the program is generally good (which it seems to be) and they can be part of a winning team even if they're not playing as much as they'd hope.
Graduate and then go elsewhere and start, degree in hand, for your last year or two of eligibility.

The bigger risk, as discussed, is big spenders coming after younger starters who are likely NFL-bound (Morrison, say, or Price/Love) and may not be as worried about the degree. Which is why our NIL game needs to be strong enough that we can credibly play defense in those cases.

If kids want to leave for the money- go, sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I would be shocked if it were someone like Morrison, Price, or Love. That says more about the individual as these 3 are 100% guaranteed playing time this season.

The team culture is healthy, it's sad that this game is turning into an individual money driven game for some (most probably) kids.

I say if a kid wants to transfer whatever NIL deal you had with the original school you started at, you have to pay it back.

Back to Colzie- I am rooting big time for him, our 21 WR class had potential and I don't think it's lived up to the hype it once had. With Colzie now being an older guy hopefully he gets a chance to show his game this season.

If Notre Dame is not spending like "big spenders" on it's best players we are not a serious program with serious aspirations

What would be the upside for him?
I remember Michael Mayer saying before the draft that he was offered millions before his senior year to play elsewhere. Didn't say who, but any top team who feels like they're just a top-flight CB away from competing for the NC would probably send out some feelers to ex-coaches, family members and/or "uncles", asking if Ben was interested in a life-changing amount of cash (plus a juicy finders fee to whoever they contacted).

I certainly hope it isn't him, but we'd be crazy to think that no one in the filthy world of college football would at least try.

IIRC the rumor was Alabama tried to poach both him and Joe Alt before the 2022 season.

I do recall someone confirming it was Bama and boosters were in conversation with Mayer and it was over a million
